WIRTGEN is the global market leader in manufacture of Surface Miners and also produces the world’s largest surface miner SM 4200. New products include the 280 SM in Bauxite Application with more than 60 Units running globally. The Indian surface mining market has witnessed greater than 300 Surface miners already and the WIRTGEN – SM 220 (3.8) is extensively used for Coal mining in India.

State of the art Wirtgen surface miners – offer a wide range of Cutting Drums which are ergonomically designed in house. WIRTGEN is the only equipment manufacturer in the world to have an inhouse design & production unit as per customers need. Telematics are an integral part of all John Deere and Wirtgen Group equipment’s & can capture a wide range of data for the smart users to monitor the machine performance at the comfort of sitting at their respective Jobsites / Corporate offices. Wirtgen’s 220 SM 3.8/220 SMi 3.8 surface miner selectively mines raw materials up to a cutting depth of 350 mm and a uniaxial compressive strength of 35 MPa. Thanks to its 3.8 m wide cutting drum designed specifically for soft-rock mining, the compact surface miner achieves maximum productivity at low operating costs and is perfect for use in small to large mining operations.

It is the cost per ton of ore where Wirtgen is a clear winner, having the maximum machines operating in the private sector – our cost per ton has been the same in spite of the input cost going high ,which is only because of the high productivity.
