Ammann, a global leader in road construction equipment, announced the inauguration of its latest state-of-the-art manufacturing facility dedicated to the production of track pavers. This strategic expansion marks a significant milestone in Ammann India’s commitment to enhancing its world-class construction equipment offerings.

Further to acquiring ABG pavers last year, Ammann has now invested in a state-of-the-art facility that will focus on the production of ABG Track and Wheel Pavers with widths ranging from 7.5 meters to 10 meters as well as, compactors, and bitumen sprayers. The integration of pioneering German-engineering technology will further strengthen the company’s foothold in the Indian and global markets, reinforcing its reputation for delivering high-performance, fuel-efficient, and technologically advanced road construction solutions.

The investment has been directed towards modernizing manufacturing infrastructure, incorporating automation, implementing sustainability initiatives, and upskilling the workforce. It incorporates cutting-edge automation features including IIoT-based Automatic Storage and Retrieval System for optimized material handling and safety as well as automated real-time data acquisition for enhanced process monitoring and quality assurance.

The facility’s design is centred on sustainability. Comprehensive environmental measures have been incorporated by Ammann, such as the installation of solar panels to lessen carbon emissions, IIoT-enabled energy monitoring systems, and an environmentally friendly infrastructure with LED lighting, skylights, and HVLS fans. The company’s dedication to ethical manufacturing is further demonstrated by a strong waste management and recycling program. The centre will also offer extensive courses in Lean Six Sigma and quality assurance, as well as advanced manufacturing training, and international talent exchange programs.

Kobelco Construction Equipment India (KCEI), a subsidiary of Japan-based Kobelco Construction Machinery Co., has reached a significant production milestone by rolling out its 20,000th excavator at its manufacturing plant in Sri City, Andhra Pradesh. This facility serves both domestic and international markets, reinforcing India’s role as a key production center for Kobelco.

KCEI manufactures a wide range of excavators in India, with an annual production capacity of 3,000 units. Stretching through the heart of a bustling IT park, the entire project route faced continuous high traffic and complex logistical constraints, making execution particularly challenging. Despite these hurdles, the early completion of the piling phase was made possible due to the zero downtime of Sany Piling Rigs, ensuring continuous operations. The deployment of Sany’s cutting-edge equipment not only ensured rapid execution but also highlighted the importance of reliable and efficient machinery in meeting critical construction timelines. The speed and precision of the piling process underscore the growing reliance on advanced technology to drive India’s expanding metro infrastructure. The SKT130S is designed to deliver optimum performance, featuring an intelligent control module that ensures seamless operations and a 10-inch central control screen that enhances navigation and safety. Built with a strong focus on operator safety, the truck cabin is equipped with FOPS/ROPS certification, ensuring compliance with global safety standards while maintaining strength and agility.

GMMCO India, a CK Birla company, today announced the inauguration of its fully operational service and supply hubs at Butibori and Hingna, Nagpur. These integrated facilities feature world-class repair, rebuild, and parts distribution hubs, playing a crucial role in supporting customers across India, with a focus on Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, and Goa. The facilities were inaugurated by Shri Nitin Gadkari, Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways of India.

Spread across 14 acres, the Butibori and Hingna facilities are strategically positioned to provide advanced service infrastructure, comprehensive component and machine rebuilding capabilities, and a high-efficiency parts warehouse—offering a one-stop solution for customer needs. At the launch of the Butibori facility, Chandrasekhar V, Managing Director, GMMCO India, stated:

SCHWING Stetter India – a leading manufacturer of concrete and construction equipment in India, entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras (IIT Madras) to drive sustainable advancements in construction industry.

As part of this collaboration, SCHWING Stetter India becomes a Platinum Member in Technologies for Low Carbon Lean Concrete (TLC2) program and joins the Advisory Board of the Centre of Excellence of IIT Madras.

SCHWING Stetter India in its dedicated efforts towards Nation’s 2070 net-zero goal, introduced its strong line up of sustainable construction equipment at the recently concluded Bharat Mobility Global expo 2025.

On display were the high performance environmentally focussed products such as Construction and Demolition Waste Crushers, Concrete Recycling Plant, Sludge Pump, Fire & Life Safety Equipment (Articulating Water Tower – AWT 36) and Truck Mixer Pump (FBP 29).

With India’s growing emphasis on sustainable infrastructure development, SCHWING Stetter and IIT Madras jointly conducted a study earlier with Chennai Metro on reuse of construction and demolition waste aggregates in concrete production and published a report.

Through joint research initiatives, the partnership will work towards developing energy efficient and environmentally friendly construction techniques enhancing innovation in construction industry by integrating academic research with industry expertise.

The collaboration between SCHWING and IIT Madras is set to aid SCHWING Stetter engineers on various skill development trainings through IIT faculties & also perform various collaborative projects.
