EXCON 2025 concluded in Bengaluru with record-breaking scale and renewed strategic clarity for India’s construction equipment ecosystem. The 13th edition of EXCON 2025, organized by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), concluded successfully from December 9 to 13, 2025, reaffirming its stature as South Asia’s largest construction equipment exhibition and among the top three globally. Hosted at the Bangalore International Exhibition Centre (BIEC), the event spanned a massive 3.5 million sqft., brought together over 1,250 exhibitors, including 134 international participants from 20 countries, and attracted an estimated 1.2 lakh business visitors. The scale, diversity, and intensity of engagement reflected the growing strategic importance of the construction equipment sector in India’s infrastructure-led growth journey.
EXCON 2025 unfolded against the backdrop of India’s accelerated infrastructure push, supported by a Rs.11.21 lakh crore allocation for FY2025–26. This momentum translated into strong on-ground activity, with over 300 product launches, live equipment demonstrations, and high-volume B2B meetings, order bookings, and technology tie-ups. Seven international pavilions—from France, Germany, Italy, South Korea, Turkey, China, and the UK—further underscored the exhibition’s expanding global footprint and India’s rising relevance in the global construction equipment ecosystem.
Reflecting on the sector’s role in national development, R Mukundan, President Designate, CII and Chairman, EXCON 2025, stated, “As an industry-driven platform, EXCON reflects our collective commitment to building a stronger India. The construction equipment sector plays a pivotal role in the nation’s economic growth, as infrastructure development and economic expansion go hand in hand. This edition of EXCON showcased several forward-looking innovations, particularly in the areas of sustainability and green energy, underscoring the industry’s readiness for the future. Industry reports also indicate significant headroom for growth, with the construction equipment sector well-positioned to catch up with other manufacturing industries in the coming years.”
The thematic focus of “Building India’s Tomorrow” shaped the exhibition’s content and conversations. Dedicated zones spotlighted AI, IoT, automation, electric and hybrid equipment, and green technologies aimed at enabling low-emission infrastructure projects. Parallel conferences addressed critical enablers such as skill development, safety, decarbonization, and alignment with national initiatives including PM Gati Shakti, Bharatmala, Smart Cities, and high-speed rail, fostering collaboration across OEMs, contractors, financiers, MSMEs, startups, and policymakers in support of Atmanirbhar Bharat.

Highlighting the record-breaking scale of the event, Chandrajit Banerjee, Director General, CII, said, “The 13th edition of EXCON has set new benchmarks in scale and participation, making it the largest construction equipment exhibition ever organized by CII. Beyond domestic growth, EXCON 2025 placed a strong spotlight on exports and global competitiveness. The event reinforced industry ambitions to build a $25 billion construction equipment market by 2030, with Indian-made equipment already reaching over 135 countries. The exhibition also highlighted Bengaluru’s emergence as a construction technology hub, aligned with India’s long-term vision of becoming a $30 trillion economy by 2047.
Sessions Spotlight: Pioneering India’s Construction Future
On the side lines, CII, in partnership with ICEMA, organized a focused session on Export Competitiveness of the Construction Equipment Industry during the 2nd Manufacturing Council Meeting. Addressing the gathering, Shri Vimal Anand, Joint Secretary, Department of Commerce, Ministry of Commerce & Industry, congratulated the industry on its export momentum and said, “The government is committed to concluding these trade agreements within a span of one year. We strongly encourage the industry to make full use of these frameworks and significantly enhance their exports to these emerging and high-potential markets.” He also emphasised that, alongside export diversification, broadening import markets remains equally critical.
Reinforcing India’s growing global standing, Deepak Shetty, Chairman, CII Council on Manufacturing Excellence, President, ICEMA & MD & CEO, JCB India Ltd., stated, “Indian construction equipment is today exported to more than 135 countries, reflecting the strength and quality of our manufacturing. The Government has extended tremendous support to the industry through trade facilitation and policy reforms. It is now for us—as an industry—to expand our reach, tap new markets, and position India firmly as a global hub for construction equipment.”

Highlighting the innovation showcased at EXCON, Ramesh Palagiri, President Designate, ICEMA, Managing Director & CEO, Wirtgen India Pvt. Ltd., added, “EXCON has showcased the remarkable innovation capability of Indian CE manufacturers—from advanced digital machines to sustainable and energy-efficient equipment. These innovations demonstrate that India is not just manufacturing for the world but shaping the future of construction technologies. This strengthens our export competitiveness and reinforces India’s position as a trusted global supplier.”
Providing a broader economic perspective, Ajit Pai, Partner, Ernst & Young, noted, “India’s Construction Equipment industry is the fastest growing among major economies. With exports rising at more than double the domestic market’s pace and competitiveness steadily improving across inputs, quality, and scale, India is rapidly positioning itself as a global CE hub.”

From a policy and innovation lens, Neeraj Huddar, Resident Fellow, NITI Aayog, observed that achieving India’s manufacturing ambitions would depend on the strategic deployment of advanced technologies, while Prof. Rishikesha Krishnan, Indian Institute of Management Bangalore, stressed the need for systematic innovation, strong national ecosystems, and focused collaboration. Adding an industry perspective, Mr Pratik Kumar, CEO, Wipro Infrastructure Engineering, highlighted the role of additive manufacturing in advancing sustainability and supply-chain resilience through localized, on-demand production.
Together, these discussions and demonstrations positioned EXCON 2025 as far more than a trade exhibition. Innovation on Display: Showcasing Next-Gen CE Solutions
The exhibition witnessed over 300 product launches and live demonstrations of cutting-edge machinery. Highlights included electric and hybrid equipment, AI-enabled systems, sustainable technologies, and advanced heavy vehicles from industry leaders like JCB, Volvo CE, Tata Motors, Caterpillar, Escorts Kubota, Schwing Stetter, Propel Industries, and JK Tyre. JCB India unveiled its largest-ever product showcase, launching over 10 new machines and digital solutions, headlined by the 52.8-tonne JCB 520X LC excavator—the largest excavator manufactured by JCB in India for domestic and global markets. The new portfolio spans heavy, mid, and compact equipment, including upgraded backhoe loaders, a refreshed excavator range (2–5 tonne), telehandlers, compactors, and industry-first technologies, all engineered around lower total cost of ownership, higher fuel efficiency, improved uptime, and enhanced safety.
Sustainability and digitalization were central themes, with JCB expanding its hydrogen portfolio through a hydrogen-powered genset, showcasing advanced telematics, a new Parts Online e-commerce platform, an Operator App, and next-generation training tools such as simulators. Backed by a nationwide service and parts network, JCB’s EXCON 2025 showcase reinforced its customer-first, future-ready approach—combining advanced machines, clean-energy innovation, and integrated digital and service solutions to support India’s infrastructure growth and the vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat.
Volvo Construction Equipment India showcased its India-centric, sustainability-driven strategy with the debut of the Made-in-Bharat EC215 excavator, designed specifically for India’s diverse and demanding operating conditions. Positioned in the 20–22T class, the EC215 builds on the EC210’s success and delivers higher productivity, fuel efficiency, uptime, and value under Volvo CE’s “Zyada Ka Vaada” promise.
The company also unveiled the SD110 Compactor for road construction, launched the L120 Electric Wheel Loader—India’s most advanced electric wheel loader now commercially available—and pre-launched the EC650 heavy excavator for large-scale construction and mining. Beyond machines, Volvo CE highlighted its integrated service ecosystem, digital solutions, and Equipment-as-a-Service offerings, while announcing progress on its upcoming Bengaluru Technology Centre to strengthen R&D and localization. Together, the showcase reaffirmed Volvo CE India’s commitment to future-ready, low-emission technologies aligned with the country’s infrastructure growth.
Tata Motors showcased a broad portfolio of future-ready commercial vehicles and aggregates under the theme “Productivity Unleashed,” aimed at supporting India’s fast-growing construction and mining sectors. Key launches included the Prima 3540.K AutoShift, Tata Motors’ most powerful tipper for deep mining; the Prima E.28K, its first all-electric tipper; and the Signa 2820.TK CNG, India’s first factory-fitted CNG tipper. These were complemented by additional high-capacity tippers, an electric prime mover, and advanced solutions focused on higher efficiency, uptime, and profitability.
Alongside vehicles, Tata Motors unveiled an expanded aggregates portfolio—industrial engines, live and trailer axles, and new 15 kVA and 35 kVA gensets—reinforcing its commitment to reliable, sustainable infrastructure solutions. Supported by Sampoorna Seva 2.0 lifecycle services and the Fleet Edge digital platform, the showcase highlighted Tata Motors’ integrated approach to decarbonization, operational efficiency, and total cost of ownership reduction for construction and mining customers.
Schwing Stetter India unveiled over 20 new products, marking a milestone for India’s construction equipment sector with multiple India-first innovations. These included the country’s first indigenously built 56-metre boom pump, first full electric truck mixer, first CNG mixer, and first hybrid boom pump—aimed at enabling faster, taller, and greener infrastructure. The company also introduced advanced precast technologies in partnership with MAXtruder GmbH, next-generation concrete equipment, and new crusher solutions for aggregates and construction & demolition waste recycling. Central to the showcase was the interactive SCHWING Innovation Booth, offering hands-on demonstrations of future-ready technologies, including hybrid and electric machinery concepts and digital simulators. Spanning over 7,500 sqm with nearly 30 machines on display, the showcase highlighted Schwing Stetter India’s focus on automation, sustainability, decarbonized logistics, and resource efficiency—reinforcing its commitment to supporting India’s rapidly evolving and environmentally conscious infrastructure landscape.
Propel Industries expanded its electric mining and construction portfolio with the launch of four new electric tipper models, a next-generation connectivity platform, and a comprehensive EV after-sales service program. The new tippers—90CED, 70CED, 560HEV-X, and 470MEV Gen-2—introduce multiple India-firsts, including ultra-fast charging and high-capacity electric dumpers designed for demanding mining and construction environments.
Alongside the vehicles, Propel unveiled Pulse.ev, an in-house digital platform offering real-time diagnostics, energy insights, predictive maintenance, and fleet optimization, and Pro EV Care, a five-tier service and uptime assurance program. Backed by a 5-year/5,000-cycle battery warranty and proven field performance exceeding five lakh operating hours, the launches reinforce Propel’s leadership in zero-emission heavy-duty mobility and position it at the forefront of India’s rapidly evolving electric mining and construction ecosystem.
Escorts Kubota unveiled its latest BS V–compliant construction equipment range, underscoring a strategy focused on application-specific design, higher productivity, and lower total cost of ownership. The new line-up targets the evolving needs of India’s infrastructure sector across urban construction, logistics, and mining, while highlighting ongoing innovation through concept- and prototype-stage machines.
Key introductions included the commercially launched Kubota U22-6 mini excavator for confined urban applications; the Hydra 15 Mining prototype tailored for rugged mining and quarrying conditions; the BLX75K backhoe loader prototype featuring a next-generation Kubota CEV-V engine; and the Hydra 72 concept pick-and-carry crane with a 72-foot boom for higher-reach lifting needs. Alongside these, EKL showcased its broader BS V–compliant portfolio, reflecting a blend of Indian engineering and Japanese precision aimed at delivering reliable, efficient, and sustainable construction solutions.
JK Tyre & Industries Ltd. expanded its Off-the-Road (OTR) portfolio with the launch of four new tyres designed for construction, infrastructure, and mining applications. The highlight was the SKY GRIP tyre, engineered for aerial work platforms and boom lifts to deliver enhanced stability, traction, and safety at elevated heights across varied terrains. The company also introduced the 14.00-25 GTL PLUS for backhoe loaders, the 23.5-25 GTL PLUS for wheel loaders, and the 14.00-20 VEM AS-UG for underground mining, each tailored for durability and performance in demanding operating conditions. Together, the launches reinforce JK Tyre’s focus on application-specific innovation, productivity, and operational safety to support India’s rapidly expanding infrastructure and mining sectors.
Caterpillar unveiled three new hydraulic excavators—Cat® 321, Cat® 322, and Cat® 324—designed to support India’s push toward sustainable, high-productivity infrastructure. The new models feature advanced engines, electrohydraulic systems, and intelligent operating modes that improve fuel efficiency, reduce emissions, and enhance uptime across diverse construction applications.
Caterpillar also announced an enhanced Cat® Customer Value Agreement (CVA) Services Commitment, introducing Next-Day Parts and Two-Day Repair commitments starting 2026, aimed at minimizing downtime and simplifying equipment ownership.
