The company aims to soon expand its portfolio with 300 TPH, 350 TPH, 400 TPH and 500 TPH plants to meet the growing requirements of large-scale quarrying, mining and infrastructure projects. In an exclusive interview to CONSTRUCTION OPPORTUNITIES, V.G. SAKTHIKUMAR, CHAIRMAN & MANAGING DIRECTOR, SCHWING STETTER INDIA, provides an overview on the Crushing & Screening equipment industry, his company’s offerings and a lot more.
Briefly give us an overview of the Crushing & Screening Equipment industry, the latest trends and market dynamics.
India’s Crushing & Screening (C&S) equipment industry is entering a phase of sustained growth, driven by the Government’s continued focus on infrastructure development, mining, roads, railways, urban development and industrial expansion. As India progresses towards becoming a developed nation, the demand for quality aggregates and manufactured sand will continue to grow, creating long-term opportunities over the next 10–15 years.
One important area that can further accelerate growth is mining policy. At present, mining regulations and approval processes differ across states. A more uniform and streamlined policy framework would simplify approvals, encourage investments and ensure a steady supply of raw materials. We also see increasing adoption of integrated crushing and sand washing solutions as customers focus on higher productivity, better product quality and optimum resource utilisation.
Detail us on your C&S equipment, types and capacities. How is your organisation integrating advancements in digitalisation, automation, AI, telematics and predictive technologies to enhance productivity, safety, lifecycle value and overall machine performance for customers?
At Schwing Stetter India, our present focus is on 200 TPH and 250 TPH three-stage Crushing & Screening plants integrated with Sand Washing Systems, addressing nearly 70% of current market demand. The plants deliver consistent production of high-quality aggregates and manufactured sand.
They feature PLC-based automation for simplified operation, better process control and reduced downtime. We are also developing 300 TPH and 350 TPH plants for larger projects. Going forward, intelligent monitoring and automation features will further enhance reliability, productivity and lifecycle value.
What sort of customer-centric initiatives has your company undertaken to be one step ahead of competition?
Customer satisfaction has always been at the centre of our business philosophy. Our leadership in concrete equipment has given us valuable insights into the needs of customers operating across crushing, quarrying and ready-mix concrete businesses.
Our extensive nationwide sales and service network, supported by strategically located parts warehouses and trained service teams, enables faster response, quick spare parts availability and reduced downtime. We believe delivering value throughout the equipment lifecycle is what truly differentiates us.
Has your company launched any new machines or are you launching any new machines in the near future?
We have successfully introduced our 200 TPH and 250 TPH Crushing & Screening plants, along with our standalone Sand Plant manufactured at our Hosur facility. These installations have already crossed 1,000 operating hours, demonstrating their reliability and operational efficiency.
We will soon expand our portfolio with 300 TPH, 350 TPH, 400 TPH and 500 TPH plants to meet the growing requirements of large-scale quarrying, mining and infrastructure projects.
Rentals are growing. What is your strategy to tap opportunities and what is your outlook for the rentals market?
The equipment rental market is steadily evolving as customers seek flexible business models that optimise capital investment while ensuring reliable equipment availability.
Schwing Stetter India is closely evaluating this opportunity as part of its long-term growth strategy. Going forward, we intend to offer our Crushing & Screening plants through Rental, AMC and OMC models. Supported by our nationwide service network, we will deliver dependable equipment, timely service and maximum uptime.
How does your organisation ensure strong aftermarket support, customer service and high uptime for its equipment across diverse and demanding operating conditions?
Our well-established sales, service and parts network, built over decades, enables us to extend the same level of service excellence to our Crushing & Screening business.
Strategically located sales offices, parts warehouses and trained service teams ensure faster response, quick spare parts availability and efficient technical support, helping customers maximise productivity and minimise downtime.
To what extent has the ongoing global situation affected business and what are your company’s strategies to overcome them?
While global economic uncertainties continue, India’s infrastructure-led growth remains strong. Continued investments in roads, railways, airports, mining and power projects provide a solid foundation for sustained demand.
Our strategy is to expand our product portfolio, strengthen manufacturing capabilities, invest in technology and further enhance our customer support network, positioning Schwing Stetter India as a comprehensive solutions provider for quarrying, mining, concrete, road and power sectors.
