Backed by 65 dealers and over 215 touchpoints, we are well placed to support new launches and ensure reliable service across the country.

CASE India is a pioneer for its full line of powerful and robust construction equipment, innovative technology and customer service in India. In an exclusive interview to CONSTRUCTION OPPORTUNITIES, PUNEET VIDYARTHI – HEAD OF BRAND MARKETING, CASE CONSTRUCTION EQUIPMENT, APAC & INDIA, gives an overview on the Indian construction equipment industry, cutting edge technologies and a lot more.

India remains one of the fastest growing construction equipment markets globally. Demand is expanding beyond large metros into rural and semi urban regions. Government programs such as Jal Jeevan Mission and Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana are supporting this shift by improving water access and road connectivity. This is encouraging first time buyers and small contractors to invest in equipment. While 2025 saw some moderation in public capital expenditure and delays in select project awards, the overall pipeline remains strong. State led road and connectivity projects continue to move ahead. We expect 2026 to see steady high single digit growth supported by these ongoing developments.

As the market expands and competition increases, customer expectations are also evolving. Technology adoption is rising across the sector. Customers are focusing on fuel efficiency, uptime and predictable performance. Telematics solutions are being used to track machine health, monitor usage and plan preventive maintenance. This helps fleet owners reduce downtime and control operating costs. At the same time, the shift to BS CEV Stage V norms is leading to cleaner and more efficient machines. Together, these trends reflect a clear move towards higher productivity, better compliance and long-term value.

Large infrastructure and road projects across India demand machines that can work long hours in heat, dust and uneven soil. Contractors also need equipment that adapts to different site conditions without slowing down progress. Our portfolio addresses these needs across backhoe loaders, excavators, vibratory compactors, motor graders and skid steer loaders. Backhoe loaders such as the 770NX, 851NX and 770NX Magnum are built for high productivity and fuel efficiency with FPT engines. The CX220C LC excavator supports heavy digging with stable performance on large sites. For road projects, the 952 NX and 1107 NX vibratory compactors, along with the 450 NX tandem compactor, help deliver consistent compaction results. The SR130B skid steer loader supports safe movement and reliable output in tight and busy work zones.

To support such varied applications, our technology focus remains on efficiency, safety and control. The BS CEV Stage V F28 engine delivers higher torque at lower fuel use while meeting emission norms, helping reduce operating cost during long shifts. Intelligent compaction provides real time soil data, allowing operators to achieve uniform density and avoid rework. Electro hydraulic controls enable smoother and more precise movements, which reduces fatigue in demanding conditions. ROPS and FOPS certified cabins enhance operator protection and visibility on crowded sites. Integrated telematics through myCASEConstruction supports real time monitoring of fuel use, machine health and maintenance planning, helping fleet owners improve uptime and decision making.

Construction projects in India operate under tight deadlines, rising fuel costs and demanding site conditions. For equipment owners, every hour of uptime directly impacts profitability. To support this need, we offer myCASEConstruction Telematics, which provides real time data on fuel usage, engine health and machine location. Service alerts and fuel monitoring help customers plan maintenance in advance and prevent sudden breakdowns. Geo tracking also improves visibility and control across fleets. This enables better planning, fewer disruptions and improved cost management.

In addition to connected technology, our machines are engineered for efficiency and consistent performance. The Intelligent Hydraulic System ensures precise control and improved fuel efficiency during operations, helping complete tasks faster without increasing operating expense. We have also strengthened our service network in key growth regions to ensure quicker support and parts availability. This integrated approach improves uptime, protects margins and helps customers stay competitive in a cost-conscious construction market.

The shift to BS CEV Stage V norms has been an important step for us. It has allowed us to introduce upgraded machines that are cleaner and more efficient. We recently launched the 770 NX, 770 NX Magnum and 851 NX backhoe loaders, along with the 952 NX and 450 NX vibratory compactors. These launches were carried out through multiple regional events, especially across Tier II and Tier III cities. Demand in these markets is rising due to projects under the Jal Jeevan Mission and the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana. Many first-time buyers are investing in compactors and backhoe loaders. The new range offers improved engines, lower emissions, better fuel efficiency and enhanced operator safety, helping customers manage operating costs and improve uptime.

At the same time, we are strengthening our presence in India. With a planned greenfield plant by 2026, we are expanding localization and increasing manufacturing capacity. This will help us respond to growing infrastructure demand across urban and rural markets. Our focus remains on compact equipment and road construction machinery, with greater use of telematics and connected solutions. Backed by 65 dealers and over 215 touchpoints, we are well placed to support new launches and ensure reliable service across the country.

Manufacturing in India plays a central role in our global strategy at CASE. Our Pithampur facility is the second largest within CNH globally after North America. From here, we manufacture backhoe loaders, skid steer loaders, excavators and compactors that meet global quality standards. These machines are exported to more than 105 countries. India also supports our APAC operations and forms an important part of our regional manufacturing footprint.

India’s role extends beyond domestic demand. The facility serves as a key supply base within CNH’s global manufacturing network. We export fully built machines as well as critical components to other markets. Over 90% of components are sourced locally, helping maintain cost efficiency and supply stability. This localisation approach supports global requirements while ensuring consistent quality and timely delivery. We will continue to build on this foundation in line with business needs and market opportunities.
