
Schwing Stetter has launched over 20 new path breaking products at EXCON 2025

Schwing Stetter India’s innovations underscore a commitment to sustainable, efficient infrastructure development—paving the way for India’s evolving construction landscape. In an exclusive interview to CONSTRUCTION OPPORTUNITIES, V.G SAKTHIKUMAR, CMD, SCHWING STETTER INDIA PVT LTD, speaks about the new launches at Excon 2025, setting new benchmarks and a lot more.
Detail us on the new products and technologies launched by your company at Excon 2025.
The highlight of this exhibition, for the first time, we have got a technology booth where we are talking about the path-breaking technology which can change the face of construction in the future. And it is all need-based. What customers are feeling a necessity to have something to help them to increase productivity, reduce the fuel consumption or save on time or investments. All these aspects are considered when we made the technology pavilion.
Also from 2024 onwards, we started getting patents registered by our R&D department in India. As of today we have totally 15 patents registered. And many of them have come in the last one year. And it is in the diverse field in all the products what we are handling.
We have all the different products what traditionally we are making. The batching plant, the concrete pump, the truck mixture, the self-loading mixture and products associated with these products.
But beyond that, we are getting into two new areas. One is on crushing and another one is on pre-cast. So, these are two additional verticals which are getting added. We have two types of plants one is the regular concrete producing plant. And another is a dry mortar plant. The dry mortar plant business, we got into that recently. And talking about the plant, the traditional plant what we are making, it is fast setting up time and easy to transport.
We have gone one step beyond in that. Considering the export market, we have containerized the plant. A 45 cubic meter is now containerized.
Then the truck mixture. The first product I would like to talk about is the CNG mixer. Mixer operated with the slave engine. And the slave engine and the truck both operates on CNG. So, it gives customer an option.They can cut down on the pollution to the large extent. And it is also fuel saving product.
The next part is EV. It is zero emission here, hydraulics has been completely removed. And it directly works on the electric motor on the gearbox. Then on the trailer pump, we have displayed here pump with variable frequency drive. Which will help the customer to save on energy again. And on the boom pump, India’s biggest boom pump.The 57 meter is displayed on a Tata chassis. In the past, the chassis requirement was met with imports for a product like this. But now, Tata has developed the chassis for this. So, with that combination, 57 meters will become more common size in the future. So, India market and the product requirement are reaching the level of developed part of the world.
So, it is more out of necessity these products are coming into the market. Then on the boom pump side, we have launched a 31 meter boom pump. A pump which can be mounted on a two axle truck. It will cut down the initial investment of the customer. Typically, a three axle truck is required. So, now it is a two axle truck. And it is very cost competitive proposition for the customer to invest on a 31 meter. The next product is the regular 36 meter boom pump which we have been selling. Now, we have brought it in the hybrid version. So, what hybrid here means, it works on the diesel engine. And it has got a motor which can run this by the electric energy. And for the power, we have given a 25 meter long cable drum.
So, we can tap the power from the grid in the construction site. So, typically in a precast area, where it is working inside the factory, no more emission. So, it is required only for travelling and then it can connect and start pumping here. So, this is the biggest advantage. This is the first time again such a product is launched. I think only very recently in April this year, we saw similar machines getting launched in the European market. Their requirement was different. But we have made it possible and within the same year launch has happened in India also.
The next product with respect to the pumps is FPP. FPP stands for Truck Mixture Boom Pump. So, F stands for Farm Mixture, which is a German word. So, Truck Mixture Boom Pump. This is a very useful machine in the total fleet what the customer owns. Because it is a truck mixture and it is a boom pump also. It has got a 29 meter boom. It can take concrete and pour it on multiple locations. So, you have lesser number of vehicles on the road. Because one vehicle can go and do the job. And it will benefit the ready mix companies to take orders which are smaller in volume. Earlier they have to take a boom pump and somebody ordering only 10 cubic meter. The mobilization cost will be very high because three machines have to go. Now it is a single machine. So, one driver can practically place a concrete of 7 cubic meter and come back. So, these all are very popular in the developing market which is also coming up in India. We are encouraged with good inquiries and order booking for this product. On the associated product with the concreting, we have displayed an ice making plant which can produce ice for controlled temperature concreting.
Other than technology side, we have also displayed parts which can be reconditioned and redeveloped parts. And also we are having a demo area for e-commerce business with this. Where you can get a demo of, if you wish, how to order a part and track it like how typically you order for the e-commerce product. So, that is to benefit all the customers not to depend and make calls, paperwork. It is direct for them to order and take the business. We have three models of the self loading machines displayed here. We have B2.1 and 4600, two machines. 4600 comes with the Mahindra 110 horse power. And B comes with the, one more model is 2500 model is also displayed. Here we try to bring the horse power requirement of the machines lesser. So, that delivering the same function what is desired with the higher horse power engine, this is going to be a fuel saving for the customers.
The CE5 has come out very well for us in terms of performance. So, we are expecting a very big growth in the self-loading mixture this year. Our stone crushers have been displayed here, 210 per hour, jaw crusher, cone crusher and VSI, vertical shaft impact crusher. We will be coming out with more models with higher capacity also in the near future. And we have plastering pump which is a regular product.
And also we have concrete, wet concrete recycling plant. And then we have a CNT waste crusher which is a single stage which can directly convert the rubbles into aggregates which can be used for concrete production subsequently. So, it is kit mounted.
It is very useful for in a condition situation where now the land costs are going up. And more metro connectivity coming in all cities. People would like to take higher value out of the land by bringing down shorter building and then building in the same place taller structure.
India is not having the facility to take it to the solid waste and keep it for many years, hundreds of years. So, converting that into aggregate and then using that will be the best way. We have worked with IIT Madras and created a paper which has been given to the concerned ministries. And they also accepted this suggestion and then they made 20% new concrete can be used, can use recycled concrete, recycled aggregate. And they are planning to increase this 20% to 30% in the next year. So, these are all the positive developments addressing the sustainability and circularity of the construction science. We have displayed the precast machines. A new area where we are getting into. We will be offering customers a complete solution for putting up a precast plant.
So, the batching plant comes from the regular standard product. And all the other related products will be coming with the technology of Max Truder. We will be soon having a time with them to make the machines in India for India market And also give to them back for the export market.
We also have a cylinder finishing which is required for rural roads and also factory floors if you wish to level them you can use this cylinder finishing.
Firstly, just give us an overview of the construction equipment market as a whole?
Actually to talk about the total overall industry it is not doing very good. I would say it is flat or slightly negative. Actually it is matter of concern in the immediate terms. But I do not think it is going to be a long term thing. Extended monsoon and some sites not getting ready. And some of the projects not happening and awarding of contract not happening. I think this was the reason for slight reduction.
But going forward from now on we expect dispatches to start happening. Because now the sites are quite ready because the monsoon is not there anymore. And most of the India is ready to receive the machines. Because the basic machines also it goes the further you know in the chain. Other machines what are required will start also moving. I mean to give an example batching plant is required first. Only then you know the truck mixture and then the pumps will start going. Last year there were issue with the chassis manufacturer in the middle of the year with related to AC cabin. So, there was a a slowdown. So, that also added to the reduction number for concreting. But I think now on it will pick up and it will be normal.
Do you foresee the next fiscal also to be somewhere around the 2 to 4 percent mark? Is that accurate to the projection or it is a little higher than that?
In the concreting business we are growing at a higher percentage growth rate than the market. So, for a flat TAV market we are going to experience around 6 percent growth in 2025, January to December 2025. Our growth will be around 6 percent.
Could you elaborate a little on you know what brought the coming together of partners like Q7, BYG for the manufacturing?
Firstly, I would like to tell that we are committed for new technology that is the reason we launched our own electric shop creating machine two years back. And we would like to do things what customer wants. So, the viability of these machines is based not on the initial cost but on the savings what they are going to do over the lifetime.
We are working on all the products to get it with the reduced fuel expenditure. EV the availability you know that we are still dependent on lot of imports to make it.
So, the cost proportion, exchange rate all this plays on this. So, I mean we cannot really tell what could be the value. But what we have done in this exhibition is to assemble first EV with our mixture. The EV coming from QCEV and mixture coming from our end.
And this will be going for homologation. And it works but homologation is part of before we set out to market on the commercial production and all. So, we expect that to come sometime in the first quarter of 2026 or the last quarter of FY26.
One good thing is everybody is working on this type of a topic, we are going more EV. I am not talking about the retail market as they may not be the one initially but the big ones they will definitely looking for a solution like that. We will start with them and we expect that this growth comes later in a big way. Right.
At Schwing Stetter always there is something new or a new benchmark set. You already have an assessment of what kind of appetite the market has?
Actually the big responsibility is educating the market. And then making them understand. Even the product like hybrid machine which gives them a comfort because it is not completely different from what they are using. But the advantage of using it inside a factory set up and not having any emission at all.
And then getting certain carbon credits and straight away it becomes zero emission. Once it changes to electric mode and complete pumping operation we can easily calculate and tell them that what is going to be the benefit but it is going to require lot of acceptance from the customers initially.
I do not want to put a number behind that. But I can tell you that our effort will be very high in marketing it out and then out both for you know complete electric RMC and also for the hybrid boom pump.
We will also work on more and more number of equipment with the electric options and then take it that way because if you do something a product which is going to the retail market then probably that may not take off very well. Doing some things ahead of its time also is not going to really help and you know it can really be demotivating for all the efforts.
But one thing I can assure you that we are good at building capacity. So, we will do that as soon as we see the green suits for the requirement for alternate energy.
Detail us on your Crushers?
In terms of 200TPS crushers we have brought in additional advantages for the value for the customer, in terms of the operation cost, in terms of serviceability, in increasing the life of the components, all these things have been patented in this area.
We will start other models also, that’s what I said, 300, 350 is all on the pipeline, so you will see soon those things, because initially when the whole project was conceived, what was happening at that point of time, that is, I mean you cannot produce a product immediately, so that was a popular model at that point of time, so definitely we will be coming out with a bigger model.
Details us on your Battery Electric Transit Concrete Mixer (eRMC)?
