October 13 marked three years of the launch of the highly ambitious PM GatiShakti National Master Plan for Multimodal Connectivity. On this occasion, Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi said highlighted the PM GatiShakti National Master Plan has emerged as a transformative initiative aimed at revolutionising India’s infrastructure and is driving faster and more efficient development across sectors.

In keeping up with the fast-paced development of infrastructure for an inclusive all-encompassing growth, Raksha Mantri Shri Rajnath Singh virtually inaugurated 75 infrastructure projects of Border Roads Organisation (BRO). These projects – 22 roads, 51 bridges & two others – are spread across 11 States/Union Territories. Nineteen (19) are in Jammu & Kashmir, 18 in Arunachal Pradesh, 11 in Ladakh, nine in Uttarakhand, six in Sikkim, five in Himachal Pradesh, two each in West Bengal & Rajasthan and one each in Nagaland, Mizoram and Andaman & Nicobar Islands.

In his address, Raksha Mantri termed the projects as a testament to the Government’s unwavering resolve to keep strengthening the border infrastructure and ensuring socio-economic progress of these areas. He added that these projects will go a long way in enhancing the defence preparedness of the country. Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s vision of ‘Viksit Bharat by 2047’ can be realised through such infrastructure projects, he said.

All these impressive infrastructure projects would require advanced and tech-aided construction equipment. According to an ICRA report, India’s mining and construction equipment (MCE) industry is set for significant growth, with localisation expected to increase by 70-80 per cent over the next 5-7 years. This shift could improve India’s competitiveness by boosting exports and helping the sector save around $3 billion in foreign exchange each year.

ICRA said that the MCE industry, driven by India’s infrastructure growth, has seen a 12% CAGR over the past decade (FY2015-FY2024), with 1.36 lakh units sold in FY2024, and the industry is projected to reach $ 25 billion by 2030. “With the potential to become a $ 25 billion market, this could mean roughly $ 3 billion in forex savings annually,” ICRA said.

All these positives are setting a precedence for a ‘Progressive Tomorrow’ that is built on Impressive Infrastructural Marvels ably backed by state-of-the-art construction equipment. The equipment manufacturing fraternity is already gearing up for the best festive season ahead and a great second half of the year.

With these words, here’s wishing everyone a great festive season that brings prosperity and positivity for the businesses…
