Contract Awarded May 2024

Power & Instrumentation Gujarat Ltd has been awarded a Letter of Award (LOA) for the development of a substation at Terminal 2 of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport in Ahmedabad by Ahmedabad International Airport Ltd, which is part of the Adani Group.

The contract is valued at Rs. 20.93 crores, inclusive of all applicable taxes and duties, with GST at 18% (excluding labor cess at 1%). The project involves the construction and installation of a substation to support the airport’s infrastructure. The work is expected to be completed within four months from the effective date of May 2024.

Techno Electric & Engineering has bagged new contracts worth Rs. 4,063 crore across various sectors. Notable contracts include:

  • A 765kV substation package for a solar energy zone in Bidar from Power Grid Corporation of India, valued at Rs. 241 crore.
  • A contract from Adani Transmission Ltd for Rs. 120 crore to establish or execute a 765kV substation package in Halvad, Gujarat.
  • A Rs. 175-crore contract from Aparva Energy Pvt Ltd. for the execution of a 765/400 kV substation in Karera, Madhya Pradesh.
  • A major contract from Millenium Challenge Account (MCA), Nepal, worth Rs. 760 crore, for the execution of 400kV substations at Lapsiphedi, New Hetauda, and New Damauli in Nepal.

Techno Electric & Engineering also received two significant contracts from Indigrid totaling Rs. 904 crore, a contract from Damodar Valley Corporation for Rs. 291 crore to execute a 12 x 33/11 KV EHouse GIS substation with 33/11 KV cable work across 120 km in DVC Command Area, and a contract from REC Power Distribution Company for Rs. 1,571 crore to install and operate smart meters in Tripura, Ranchi, and Indore on a DBFOOT basis.

Welspun Corp Limited’s associate company, East Pipes Integrated Company for Industry (EPIC), Saudi Arabia’s leading manufacturer of Helical Submerged Arc Welded (HSAW) pipes, has signed a contract with Maramer Contracting Company valued at over Rs. 133 crore. The contract entails the manufacturing, coating, and supply of steel pipes, with a duration of six months.

Indian Railways has awarded a significant wagon manufacturing contract worth Rs. 817.74 crore to a joint venture between SAIL and RITES. The contract, involving the production of 2,000 Bogie Open Wagons (BOXNHL), will be used for transporting coal and iron ore.

Gruner Renewable Energy has secured multiple projects worth Rs. 1,500 crore for Compressed Biogas (CBG) plants across India in its first year of incorporation. The company announced that it has signed 11 projects valued at Rs. 1,100 crore from one of India’s leading business conglomerates, alongside 19 additional projects worth Rs. 400 crore from various individual business leaders. These CBG plants will have a combined annual production capacity of over 88,000 tonnes of compressed biogas, which will be distributed across the Indian market. The projects are located in several key cities, including Ayodhya in Uttar Pradesh, Satna in Madhya Pradesh, Balasore in Orissa, Navsari in Gujarat, Yavatmal in Maharashtra, Vijayawada, and Rajahmundry in Andhra Pradesh.

Va Tech Wabag Ltd. has secured a significant consortium order from the National Sanitation Office of Tunisia (ONAS) for the design, construction, and operation of a 36 million liters per day (MLD) wastewater treatment plant at Sousse Hamdoun II in Tunisia. The order is valued at Rs. 304.93 crore.

This project is funded by the French Development Agency (AFD), the European Investment Bank (BEI), and the European Union (EU). It aims to bolster Wabag’s presence in Tunisia and the North African region, marking a strategic expansion for the company.

The project is expected to be executed over the next 24 months, followed by a 12-month operation and maintenance phase. Wabag will be responsible for engineering and procurement, as well as the operation and maintenance of the plant.

Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL) has emerged as the Lowest Bidder (L1) for a major contract from South Central Railway. The project involves the “Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) tender for the proposed Doubling of Track between Ankai station (Excluding) at KM 16.00 (Ch: 16000) & Karanjgaon stations (Excluding) at Km 69.01 (Ch:69010) (i.e. 53.01 Km), including Electrification and Signaling works in connection with the Aurangabad-Ankai Doubling Project in the Nanded Division of South Central Railway.”

The total cost of the project is Rs. 440 crore, including GST. The award represents a significant win for RVNL and is expected to play a key role in improving railway infrastructure in the region. The proposed track doubling will enhance railway operations, reduce congestion, and improve overall efficiency in the Nanded Division, contributing to the smooth flow of passenger and freight traffic.

RailTel Corporation of India Ltd. has clinched a significant work order from the Central Warehousing Corporation for the supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of a modern video surveillance system across India. The contract, valued at Rs. 51.53 crore (including tax), underscores RailTel’s continued prowess in providing cutting-edge solutions in the realm of surveillance and communication infrastructure.

Welspun Specialty Solutions Limited has secured a significant order valued at Rs. 21.64 crore, inclusive of taxes, from a domestic Public Sector Undertaking (PSU) customer for the supply of Stainless Steel Seamless Tubes. The tubes will be produced in an integrated manner under one roof, covering the entire process from steelmaking to final tube production, and ar

e intended for use in critical boiler applications.

The order is set to be completed by January 2025, meeting the customer’s requirements and timelines.

Ahasolar Technologies Limited has been awarded a work order from BSES Rajdhani Power Limited for consultancy services in the Solar Application Project. The project involves the complete design, engineering, maintenance, and drawing of a website and mobile platform dedicated to solar energy applications.

The total value of the consultancy services is approximately Rs. 1.10 crores.The company’s role will encompass designing and engineering the technical architecture, as well as maintaining the web and mobile platforms to ensure seamless functionality and user experience.

The joint venture of M/s KRDCL and Rail Vikas Nigam Ltd (RVNL) has been awarded the Letter of Acceptance (LoA) by Southern Railway for the redevelopment of the Thiruvananthapuram Central Railway Station. The project will be carried out under the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) mode.

The total cost of the redevelopment project is Rs. 438 crore including Goods and Services Tax (GST). This ambitious redevelopment plan aims to modernize the Thiruvananthapuram Central Railway Station, one of Southern Railway’s busiest stations. The EPC mode allows for a comprehensive approach, where the project scope includes design, procurement, and construction, ensuring efficiency and quality in execution.

Ircon International Limited (IRCON), in joint venture with Dineshchandra R Agrawal Infracon Pvt Ltd (DRA), known as Ircon-DRA JV, has been awarded the Letter of Acceptance (LOA) for a major railway project. The contract involves the construction of the Kottavalasa-Koraput Doubling Project from Km 45.483 to Km 72.550, covering the stretch from Shivalingapuram Station to Borraguhalu Station. This project is part of the Kottavalasa-Koraput Doubling Project in the Waltair Division of the East Coast Railway. The work will be executed in the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) mode at a quoted bid price of Rs. 1,198.09 crores. The Kottavalasa-Koraput Doubling Project is aimed at enhancing railway infrastructure and increasing capacity along this critical corridor. The project is expected to improve connectivity, reduce congestion, and support the growing transportation demands in the region. With the award of this contract, Ircon-DRA JV is set to undertake significant construction work, contributing to the development and modernization of the East Coast Railway network.

KEC International Ltd., a major player in the global infrastructure EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) sector and a part of the RPG Group, has secured new orders totaling Rs. 1,036 Crores across its diverse business verticals. The new orders span the Transmission & Distribution (T&D), Railways, and Cables segments.

The T&D business has secured orders for projects in the Middle East and the Americas. These include:

  • Contracts for setting up overhead transmission lines in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
  • Supply orders for towers, hardware, and poles in the Americas.

The Railways business has also secured an order for additional work in the conventional segment in India, while the Cables business has received orders for the supply of various types of cables in both India and overseas markets. 

Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL) has been selected as the Lowest Bidder (L1) by Southern Railway for the “Provision of Automatic Block Signaling system in Jolarpettai Junction to Erode Junction of Salem Division in Southern Railway.”

The order is valued at Rs. 239 crore.This project involves the installation of an automatic block signaling system across the Jolarpettai Junction to Erode Junction segment in the Salem Division. The system aims to enhance the efficiency and safety of railway operations along this key route in Southern Railway. By automating the signaling process, the project is expected to reduce delays, improve train frequency, and increase overall operational reliability.
