Rail Vikas Nigam Ltd (RVNL), a Navratna Public Sector Undertaking under the Ministry of Railways, has secured a significant project from the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) to construct a vital metro link between Lajpat Nagar and Saket G Block. This marks RVNL’s first-ever project for the DMRC, a notable expansion of its infrastructure portfolio. The project, valued at approximately Rs.447.42 crore, falls under the ambitious Delhi MRTS Phase IV initiative. RVNL is tasked with completing the metro link within a demanding timeframe of 36 months.


Asian Energy Services Limited, a prominent integrated service provider to the energy and mining sectors, has been awarded a significant Integrated Service Contract by Vedanta Limited. The total value of the contract is approximately Rs.865 crore, including GST, and the work is slated for execution over a period of 57 months. The contract encompasses field development and Operations & Maintenance (O&M) services.


Bharat Earth Movers Ltd (BEML), a leading Indian public sector undertaking, has received a substantial order worth Rs.185.65 crore from the Ministry of Defence (MoD). The contract is for the supply of 79 units of BEML’s flagship Power Angling & Tilting (PAT) Bulldozers. The PAT Bulldozers are known for their versatility, capable of moving in six directions (up, down, left, right, and tilting forward or backward), making them ideal for a wide range of tasks including grading, land clearing, working on slopes, and road construction, especially in challenging terrains.


Kalpataru Projects International Limited (KPIL), a leading EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) player in the power transmission & distribution (T&D) and civil infrastructure sectors, announced recently that it has secured new orders and notifications of awards totaling approximately Rs.2,293 crore.


Globe Civil Projects Limited has received a significant Letter of Award (LoA) from NBCC (India) Ltd. The contract is for the engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) of various infrastructure facilities and buildings within the campus of the Central University of Punjab in Ghudda, Bathinda (Punjab). The comprehensive project encompasses the construction of academic buildings, residential buildings, and overall campus development.


Patel Engineering Limited (PEL) has secured a significant contract valued at Rs.239.98 crore (inclusive of taxes) from NHPC Ltd. The project involves crucial civil and hydro-mechanical works for the Teesta-V Power Station in Sikkim, specifically focusing on the modification of the diversion tunnel into a tunnel spillway arrangement under Package 6. Located in the South District of Sikkim, the project has a completion timeline of 18 months. The comprehensive scope of work includes the construction of the tunnel spillway, a gate operation chamber and shaft, a precast bridge, an access road, energy dissipation structures, a dyke, an environmental flow tunnel, and other associated infrastructure.


Larsen & Toubro (L&T) has been awarded a “large” project, valued between Rs.2,500 crore and Rs.5,000 crore, from Hindustan Zinc, a Vedanta group company. The order, secured by L&T’s minerals and metals business, involves the engineering, procurement, and construction of a new facility at Hindustan Zinc’s Debari Smelter Complex in Rajasthan. The expansion project is a key part of Hindustan Zinc’s growth strategy and will include a 250 kilotonne per annum (KTPA) leaching, purification, and cellhouse facility, along with a 125 KTPA Jarosite Circuit.


SPML Infra Limited has been awarded a significant Rs.385 crore contract for water infrastructure development in Rajasthan under the central government’s Jal Jeevan Mission. This crucial project aims to establish a robust Water Production & Supply System for the Kekri-Sarwar Sector Package-III in the Ajmer district.

The comprehensive contract includes a 10-year Operation and Maintenance agreement, underscoring a long-term commitment to upgrading and sustaining the water supply infrastructure for the Kekri-Sarwar region. The project will leverage water from the Bisalpur Dam to significantly enhance distribution systems across the Ajmer district.

Key components of this ambitious undertaking include the construction of a 160 Million Liters per Day (MLD) Water Treatment Plant at Kekri, along with two Clear Water Reservoirs boasting a combined capacity of 37.75 MLD. Additionally, the project will involve laying 58.675 kilometers of MS Pipeline from the Water Treatment Plant in Kekri to IPS Nasirabad. The new infrastructure will be equipped with advanced pumping systems, SCADA monitoring technology, and all necessary electrical and mechanical equipment to ensure efficient and reliable water delivery.


The Ministry of Defence (MoD) recently announced the signing of a significant contract with Bharat Electronics Ltd (BEL) for the procurement of Air Defence Fire Control Radars for the Indian Army, valued at an estimated Rs.2,000 crore.

These indigenously developed Fire Control Radars will boast a minimum of 70 percent indigenous content, a move that aligns with India’s push for self-reliance in defence manufacturing. These advanced radars will be capable of detecting a wide array of aerial threats, including fighter aircraft, attack helicopters, and enemy drones. The acquisition is set to mark a crucial milestone in the ongoing modernization efforts of the Indian Army’s Air Defence Regiments, significantly enhancing their operational readiness and overall capabilities. Beyond bolstering national security, the Ministry emphasized that this contract will also contribute to the nation’s economic growth, supporting domestic industry and job creation.


Hyderabad-based DEC Infrastructure and Projects (India) Private Limited has secured a significant contract worth Rs.317 crore for the comprehensive conservation, retrofitting, and construction of a new service building at North Block in New Delhi. The company received the Letter of Acceptance for the tender from the Central Public Works Department (CPWD). DEC Infrastructure is tasked with completing the work within 24 months. The North Block is a vital government building, housing key ministries, including the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA). In addition to the North Block project, DEC Infrastructure has also been awarded another contract for internal finishing, furniture, furnishing, and electrical and mechanical works for office spaces within the general pool office accommodation (GPOA) at Netaji Nagar, part of the larger Central Vista redevelopment in New Delhi.


VA Tech Wabag, a leading water technology company, has bagged a significant Design, Build, Operate (DBO) order valued at approximately Rs.380 crore from the Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB). The project, backed by the World Bank, focuses on enhancing Bengaluru’s water infrastructure and sustainability.

The comprehensive order entails the Design, Engineering, Construction, and Commissioning (EPC) of advanced Wastewater Treatment Plants (WWTPs). These facilities will incorporate a Tertiary Treatment Facility, Biogas Generation, Solar Sludge Drying Beds, and Intermediate Pumping Stations, along with associated piping works. The project is slated for completion within 30 months, followed by a 10-year period of Operation and Maintenance.

These state-of-the-art WWTPs will be strategically located at four sites in Bommanahalli as part of the Karnataka Water Security and Disaster Resilience Program. Their implementation is crucial for ensuring the region’s long-term water sustainability. By utilizing advanced treatment technologies, the plants will facilitate the industrial reuse of tertiary-treated wastewater, significantly reducing the demand for freshwater and bolstering Bengaluru’s overall water security. Further underscoring its commitment to environmental stewardship, the project includes a green initiative: the anaerobic digestion of sludge to generate biogas. This biogas will be used to power plant operations, thereby decreasing reliance on external energy sources, improving operational efficiency, and contributing to broader sustainability objectives.


Texmaco Rail & Engineering Limited has received a significant order from Ultratech Cement Limited. The contract, valued at Rs.47.77 crore, is for the supply of BOXNHL wagons and a BVCM Brake Van. Texmaco Rail is expected to complete the delivery of the wagons and brake van by mid-October 2025.


A joint venture between Spain’s Tecnica Y Proyectos SA (TYPSA) and Italy’s RINA Consulting SPA is set to be awarded the prestigious general consultant and project management consultant contract for the development of the greenfield Vadhvan Port in Maharashtra. The consortium emerged as the lowest bidder with a quoted price of Rs.95.26 crore.

The TYPSA-RINA JV outbid three other prominent contenders: Haskoning India Consulting Pvt Ltd (Rs.125.37 crore), AECOM India Pvt Ltd (Rs.128.03 crore), and Engineers India Ltd (Rs.167.56 crore). The price bids were unsealed on Monday, as confirmed by multiple industry sources.

TYPSA is an independent group renowned for its engineering, architectural, and consulting services across infrastructure, energy, environmental, and urban solutions. RINA Consulting, on the other hand, is a unit of RINA SPA, one of the world’s leading ship classification societies.

Scope of the Contract

The extensive contract encompasses general consultancy and project management consultancy for the landlord component of works, which will be executed through the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) mode. This includes:

  • General Consultancy: Involving key (438-man months) and non-key (1065-man months) professional deputation at Palghar/Dahanu.
  • Project Management Consultancy (PMC) for three core components:
  • Breakwater (747-man months)
  • Near shore reclamation and approach trestle (432-man months)
  • Residual works (168-man months)
  • Additionally, 12 support staff will be deployed for 60 months, accounting for 720-man months.
