Contract Awarded – February 2025

Patel Engineering Limited (PEL) recently emerged as the lowest bidder (L1) for a Rs.1,090.45 crore irrigation project in Maharashtra. The infrastructure company will execute the project in a joint venture, with PEL holding a 20% stake valued at Rs.218.09 crore.

The contract, awarded by the Maharashtra Krishna Valley Development Corporation, involves constructing a pipeline distribution network for the Nira Deoghar Right Bank Main Canal from kilometers 87 to 135, along with its distributaries and minors. The project will be carried out in Kalaj village, Phaltan taluka, Satara district.

The scope of work includes excavation, pipe trenching, supply and installation of pipelines, placement of various valves, chambers, and outlets, as well as testing the pipeline system. Additionally, the contract covers a five-year operations, repairs, and maintenance period following project completion.

With a 36-month timeline for completion, this project further strengthens PEL’s infrastructure portfolio. The 75-year-old company has a legacy of delivering over 85 dams, 40 hydroelectric projects, and more than 300 km of tunneling works across India.


Value Rs.5500 cr

JBM Ecolife Mobility, a subsidiary of JBM Auto, has secured an order worth Rs.5,500 crore to supply 1,021 electric buses under the PM e-Bus Sewa Scheme-2 initiative. These buses will be deployed across Gujarat, Maharashtra, and Haryana.

As part of the contract, JBM Ecolife Mobility will oversee the end-to-end execution of the project. A payment security mechanism has been integrated to ensure timely payments to electric bus operators, enhancing financial sustainability for industry stakeholders.


Value Rs.1011 cr

Kalpataru Projects International Limited (KPIL), along with its international subsidiaries, has successfully secured new orders and notifications of award amounting to Rs.1,011 Crores.

The new orders encompass a range of business sectors:

  • Transmission & Distribution (T&D) projects in the overseas market
  • Railway projects within India
  • Buildings & Factories (B&F) projects in India

Manish Mohnot, Managing Director & CEO of KPIL, expressed satisfaction with the robust order inflows, which have significantly strengthened the company’s order book. Year-to-date (YTD) inflows now exceed Rs.17,300 Crores, with 85% of these orders stemming from KPIL’s core T&D and B&F businesses. The T&D business has shown consistent growth over the last three quarters, while the B&F segment continues to lead with both new and repeat orders.


Value Rs.221 cr

RailTel has secured multiple work orders totaling Rs.221 crore, including projects in education, power, and defense.

The first order, worth Rs.15.98 crore, comes from the Department of Education Samagra Shiksha under the STARS initiative. RailTel will set up Robotics, Drone, and Atal Tinkering Labs in 160 government schools across Himachal Pradesh, with completion targeted by November 30, 2025.

The second order, valued at Rs.104.16 crore, has been awarded by Maharashtra State Power Generation Company Limited (MSPGCL). RailTel will upgrade the IT network infrastructure for nine power plants and three offices, modernizing them with the latest technology. The project is expected to be completed by January 30, 2030.

Additionally, RailTel has received a Rs.100.33 crore contract from a defense PSU to establish a Data Centre (DC) and Disaster Recovery (DR) Centre. The execution deadline for this project is May 30, 2025.


Value Rs.6700 cr

State-owned engineering giant Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (BHEL) has secured a Rs.6,700 crore contract from Singareni Collieries Company Ltd (SCCL) to develop an 800 MW supercritical thermal power unit in Telangana’s Mancherial district. The project, awarded on an Engineering, Procurement & Construction (EPC) basis, involves design, engineering, manufacturing, supply, erection, and commissioning, including civil works, BHEL said in a statement. The new unit will be set up adjacent to SCCL’s existing 2×600 MW power plant, which was also executed by BHEL and commissioned in 2016. Telangana relies heavily on BHEL, with the company having installed over 75% of the state’s coal-based power capacity. As India’s leading power equipment manufacturer, with over 1,70,000 MW of installed utility power capacity, BHEL remains a key player in advancing the country’s energy security and self-reliance in power infrastructure.


Value Rs.3500 cr

State-owned NBCC (India) Ltd has secured a significant Rs.3,500-crore work order for a mixed-use development project in Lucknow. The company has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Sarkari Awas Nirman Avam Vitt Nigam Ltd. Under the agreement, NBCC will serve as the Project Management Consultant (PMC) for the execution of the mixed land-use development at Poorvi Vihar, spanning 588 acres in Lucknow. The MoU outlines NBCC’s responsibility to manage and complete the development, starting with the possession, planning, design, and construction of a 50-acre encumbrance-free site as the first phase of the project, which is valued at approximately Rs.3,500 crore. NBCC will operate on a ‘deposit on work’ basis, with the agency charging a 10% fee on the actual cost of the project, in addition to applicable GST and taxes.


Value Rs.567 cr

Signature Global has awarded construction contracts worth Rs.567.37 crore for its housing project ‘Daxin Vistas’ in Sohna, Gurugram. B L Gupta Construction (P) Ltd has secured a Rs.482-crore contract to build 2,792 independent floors within 36 months, while Shri Balaji has been allotted Rs.85.37 crore for external development works, including sewage treatment, stormwater drainage, irrigation, and rainwater harvesting.


Value Rs.19 cr

Mumbai-based Krystal Integrated Services Limited (KISL) has expanded into the wastewater management and effluent treatment sector, securing a Rs.19.62 crore contract from Tindivanam Pharma Park Association in Chennai. The company aims to build a Rs.1,000 crore order book in this segment within the next 18 months.

To drive this initiative, KISL has assembled a team of over 20 professionals specializing in Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) processes, with a combined experience of 200 years spanning industrial development corporations and the private sector.

“This segment presents tremendous opportunities for sustainable and profitable growth,” said Sanjay Dighe, CEO & Whole-time Director at KISL, highlighting the growing regulatory emphasis on environmental compliance.

Currently serving 369 customers across 2,487 locations in India, KISL plans to expand its wastewater management solutions to similar manufacturing clusters nationwide. While the company has executed turnkey projects since 2019, it formalized its entry into this sector at the start of FY25.

The move aligns with KISL’s strategy to develop higher-margin, technology-driven operations, positioning the firm further up the value chain in integrated facility management.


Value Rs.298 cr

Ashok Leyland announced has secured an order worth Rs.298 crore to supply 320 BS VI diesel-powered, 12-meter low-floor buses to the Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation (TNSTC). Designed for city operations, these ultra-low-entry, rear-engine buses are equipped with advanced iGen 6 BS VI technology. They feature an H-Series engine that delivers 184 kW (246 hp) and come with front and rear air suspension to enhance passenger comfort. The company stated that deliveries are scheduled to take place between June 2025 and August 2025.


Value Rs.2195 cr

The long-awaited redevelopment of New Delhi Railway Station has moved a step closer to execution, with the joint venture (JV) of DEC Infrastructure and HG Infra Engineering emerging as the lowest bidder for the project. The JV submitted a bid of Rs.2,195 crore.

The Rail Land Development Authority (RLDA) opened the financial bids for the project, which will be executed under the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) model. The JV comprises a 51% stake by DEC Infrastructure and 49% by HG Infra Engineering.


Value Rs.404 cr

Rail Vikas Nigam Ltd. (RVNL) has secured a Rs.404.4 crore contract from East Coast Railway for the Koraput-Singapur Road Doubling Project. The company received a Letter of Acceptance for the project, which involves the construction of 27 major bridges, including 22 major bridges and five road-over bridges (ROBs), along with earthworks for approach formation, protection works, and other related tasks between Tikiri and Bhalumaska stations. The project, part of the Waltair Division’s railway infrastructure expansion, is expected to be completed within 30 months.


Value Rs.100 cr

Infra-to-energy firm Hazoor Multi Projects Ltd (HMPL) has won a Rs.102 crore contract for steel works in Maharashtra, awarded by Venkatesh Infra Projects. The project, set to be executed within six months, was announced by the company in a statement on Sunday.

The contract involves reinforcement steel cutting, bending, fixing, and fabricating structural steel for bridge construction at the Versova-Bandra Sea Link project site in Mumbai.

HMPL specializes in engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) services across the renewable energy and road infrastructure sectors. The Mumbai-based company is also planning to develop a 500 MW solar project in Andhra Pradesh, with an investment of Rs.2,500 crore.


Value Rs.968 cr

Gensol Engineering Limited has won a Rs.968 crore Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contract to develop a 245 MW solar photovoltaic project at the Khavda RE Power Park in Gujarat’s Rann of Kutch. The contract, awarded by an undisclosed public sector undertaking, includes three years of operations and maintenance services.
