Afcons awarded Rs.6,397 cr bullet train undersea tunnel contract

The National High Speed Rail Corporation (NHSRCL), which is implementing India’s first bullet train project, has awarded a Rs.6,397 crore contract to Afcons Infrastructure, for constructing a 21-km-long tunnel.

As per tender, Afcons will undertake the construction of a twin track under the sea rail tunnel of seven km at Thane Creek in Maharashtra, and three tunnel boring machines and new Austrian tunnelling method will be utilised for the construction work.

Technical bids of this tender were opened in February, 2023 and financial bids were opened during April 2023. The Ministry of Railways is pursuing the goal to run the bullet train on a larger section in 2027. The maximum speed will be 320 kmph, and the total length of the corridor stands at 508 km spread over 12 stations between Mumbai and Sabarmati.

Serentica Renewables bags order worth Rs.10,000 cr for RE projects

Serentica Renewables has bagged contracts worth Rs.10,000 crore for its upcoming projects to develop 1.5 GW of renewable energy (RE) capacity in India. It will set up solar and wind capacities across the states where it has secured connectivity to the inter-state transmission system (ISTS). Serentica has partnered with firms such as Suzlon, Siemens Gamesa, and Envision for the wind-based projects in Maharashtra and Karnataka. Moreover, solar modules in Rajasthan and Maharashtra will provided by Jinko Solar and Trina Solar. The procurement and construction work will be implemented by Suzlon, Sterling & Wilson, Amara Raja Power Systems, EverRenew, and Rays Power. The company expects to commission the work on the project by FY25.

The KKR-backed firm has signed contracts to supply 2.5 GW of RE to commercial and industrial consumers. Serentica Renewables will raise fund of around $250 million from KKR in this agreement.

HFCL bags orders worth Rs.221.95 cr

HFCL and its material subsidiary, HTL have received purchase orders (PO) aggregating to Rs.221.95 crore. As part of the order amounting to around Rs.179.24 crore, the company will supply of various types of optical fiber cables (OFC) to Reliance Projects & Property Management Services. The contract is to be executed by October, 2023.

Another order, worth Rs.42.71 crore is for the supply of indigenously designed, developed and manufactured 700 Mbps and one Gpbs point to point (P2P) unlicensed band radios (UBRs) to from Reliance Jio Infocomm, and must be completed by July, 2023.

With up to one Gbps throughput capacity, these UBRs support high-capacity enterprise applications and deployment in electricity distribution grids, power plants and many other scenarios.

Nibe Ltd has received seven Purchase Order from Larsen & Toubro Limited for Manufacturing of Bridge Center Module Structure for a total consideration of Rs.16.80 crore (inclusive of all taxes and duties).

Patel Engineering Bagging Order Worth Rs.519.50 Crore

Patel Engineering Limited has received a Letter of Acceptance LOA from City and Industrial Development Corporation (CIDCO) for building a 6.70 km long treated water tunnel associated works between Sai Village to Vindhane Village in Raigad District, Maharashtra.

The company will execute the water tunnel project worth Rs.519.50 crore without any joint venture partnership.

The company’s robust track record of executing similar projects played a crucial role in clinching this order.

According to the bid, the long-treated water tunnel and related works are expected to be completed in 60 months. The company’s expertise in tunnelling, underground works for hydroelectric, and infrastructure development positions them well to complete the project on time.

The company will prioritize quality with technological capabilities, excellence, and environmental sustainability throughout the project.

ITI bags Rs.3,889 crore advance purchase order from BSNL for 4G services

State-owned telecom gear maker ITI Ltd has bagged an advance purchase order worth Rs.3,889 crore from BSNL for deploying 23,633 sites for 4G services. The supply period for the 4G telecom gear is 18-24 month under the contract.

BSNL has issued an Advance Purchase Order (APO) for reservation quota order in the West Zone to ITI.

The scope of work includes planning, engineering, supply, installation and commissioning, and AMC (Annual Maintainence Contract) of 4G mobile network for 23,633 sites in West Zone of BSNL Network.

The total value of the contract is Rs.3,889 crore, including AMC for 9 years. The supply period is 18-24 months and warranty is 12 months with consortium partner being TCS.

As part of the contract, ITI Ltd will manufacture the Radio Access Network (RAN).

BEML bags new order worth Rs.675 crore from ICF for 10 Vande Bharat Trainsets

 BEML Limited has received a letter of acceptance for Design, manufacturing and commissioning of 10 Trainsets (Sleeper) on Vande Bharat platform, from Integral Coach Factory, Chennai.

NCC Bags Order Worth Rs.2,088 Crore

NCC Limited has received orders worth Rs.2,088 crore in the month of May 2023.

The company said that out of total orders of Rs.2,088 crore, its Building Division has received the orders for an aggregate amount of Rs.1,668 crore. NCC’s Water Division bagged orders worth Rs.420 crore.

The company further highlighted that it has received these orders from State Government Agencies and does not include any internal orders.

L&T Construction Wins Orders for its Buildings & Factories Business

The Buildings & Factories (B&F) Business of Larsen & Toubro (L&T)Construction has recently secured EPC orders in India.

The Business has won an order from a reputed developer to construct residential towers in Thane, Mumbai. The scope of the work includes construction of core and shell works for 5 towers comprising ground, 5 podiums, 54 floors and allied parking areas. The project is to be executed within stringent timelines.

Further, B&F Fast, one of the verticals of the Business, has secured an order from a prestigious client to construct commercial office space in Bengaluru with an approximate built-up area of 16 lakhs sq. ft. The scope of work includes civil works for the composite structure, warm shell finishes to construct 3B+G+15 floors. The project is scheduled to be completed in 18 months. This is testament to the expertise of the business vertical for fast track execution of steel structures with composite steel technology.

K&R Rail Engineering wins Rs.300 cr railway siding project contract

K&R Rail Engineering has received a work order from JK Cement for the survey work of a railway siding project at Muddapur in Bagalkot district of Karnataka. The contract is valued at around Rs.300 crore. The design and survey services are for railway siding taking off from Lokapur station in South Western Railway in Phase-I, and EPC in Phase-II.

The stipulated time period for work completion under Phase-I is three months, and is set at 18 months for Phase-II. K&R Rail is a railway construction company in India which provides engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning (EPCC) services including bridges and civil works, track works, overhead electrification (OHE), and allied works.

Godrej Electricals & Electronics has secured orders worth Rs.2,000

The EPC contract in transmission sector is for installing extra high voltage (EHV) substations of 400 kV & 765 kV across India and a GIS substation with 220 kV underground cable in Mumbai. It also includes a 132 kV substation project to be carried out in Nepal.

The order in the solar segment is for a ground-mounted solar plant of 20 MW in West Bengal, and will enhance the company’s portfolio by 30 percent annually over the next three years.

Moreover, the railway electrification contract with a project cost of over Rs.900 crore comprises the construction of traction substations and associated works. The project is part of ‘Mission Raftar’ which envisions upgrading speed to 160 kmph/200 kmph on the New Delhi-Howrah route, and between Mathura and Palwal on the existing New Delhi-Mumbai route.

While the substation orders marks the company’s diversified customer base to include non-utility clients, the orders altogether showcase overall expansion of its portfolio.

Rail Vikas Nigam Ltd JV wins order of Rs.2248 crores

Rail Vikas Nigam Ltd-SCC Infrastructure Pvt. Ltd (RVNL-SCC) JV has received Letter of Award (LOA) for ‘Planning, Design and construction of main Canal and Structures including associated distribution system to provide Irrigation facility to 41903 ha. area through Piped Irrigation network for Upper High-Level Canal of Mahi Bajaj Sagar Project, Banswara (Raj) on Engineering, Procurement and Construction (E.P.C.) single Responsibility turnkey basis, including 10 years O&M.’

The cost of project is Rs.2248.94 crore/- (RVNL Share is 51% and SCC Share is 49%).

W S Industries India Ltd bags orders worth Rs.371.82 crores

W.S. Industries (India) Limited has bagged orders worth Rs.371.82 crores from M/s.TRINEVA – JWIL (JV) (M/s.Trineva Infra Projects Pvt Ltd is a related party) and M/s.CMK Projects Private Limited.

An order for Construction of “New Multi Village scheme – Combined Water Supply Scheme to Nagapattinam Municipality, Thittachery, Velankanni, Kilvelur, Thalainayar Town Panchayats and 980 rural habitations in Nagapattinam, Thirumarugal, Kilvelur, Keelaiyur, Thalainayar and Vedaranyam unions in Nagapattinam District under Jal Jeevan Mission fund (Construction Period: 18 months and paid Maintenance: 60 months) – Package-II”, Tamil Nadu, approximately valued at Rs.317.29 Crores (including GST) has been received from M/s.TRINEVA – JWIL (JV) (M/s.Trineva Infra Projects Pvt Ltd is a related party).

The Company has bagged an order for Construction of Integrated Storm Water Drain Works in M1&M2 Components in Kovalam Basin in expanded areas in Greater Chennai Corporation Package 10 Covering various streets of Zone-14, Tamil Nadu, approximately valued at Rs.54.53 Crores (including GST) from M/s.CMK Projects Private Limited.
