L&T Construction Wins Significant Orders for its Power Transmission & Distribution Business

The Power Transmission & Distribution (PT&D) Business of Larsen & Toubro (L&T) has secured multiple domestic EPC orders. As the country’s power generation evolves, Large Renewable Energy (RE) zones are being developed that house several solar and wind projects from various developers in contiguous land parcels. The power generated from such individual projects is collected at pooling substations, located in the vicinity, and then re-distributed to intra-state and inter-state transmission networks. One such RE zone, the Khavda RE park being developed in Gujarat’s Kutch region, will be one of the largest of its kind in the world. The PT&D Business has secured orders to establish 765kV and 400kV gas insulated substations, to serve as pooling substations, in the Khavda RE zone. Another upcoming RE zone is in the Kurnool district of Andhra Pradesh where gigawatts of solar and wind energy generation projects are being developed. The Business has won an order to establish 765kV gas insulated and air insulated substation bays at the pooling and remote end substations.

The combined scope of these substation packages includes more than 7 km of gas insulated bus ducts, bus reactors and protection & automation systems.

Further, the PT&D business has also bagged orders to develop distribution infrastructure in two circles of Rajasthan’s prominent discom.

KEC International wins orders of Rs.1,560 crore

KEC International Ltd., a global infrastructure EPC major, an RPG Group Company, has secured new orders of Rs.1,560 crores for Transmission & Distribution (T&D) projects in India, from Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (PGCIL) under Tariff Based Competitive Bidding (TBCB) route:

  • 765 kV Transmission line
  • 765/400 kV AIS Substation
  • 765 kV GIS Substations

BCPL Railway Infra bags a new project in Northern Sector under Northern Railway

BCPL Railway Infrastructure Limited has received an Electrification project from Northern Railway, Electrical Division, Jalandhar City, Punjab.

This order has been received for the work of design, supply, erection, testing & commissioning of 25 kv OHE for the work of “doubling between ludhiana-mullanpur including ludhiana yard remodeling over firozpur division” (69 track kilometer). The total project cost comprises of rs.23.6 crore and it is expected to be executed over a period of 18 months.

PNC Infratech Limited receives LOA for Rs.771.46 crores order

PNC Infratech Limited has received Letter of Acceptance from Haryana Rail Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (Authority) for the project “Design and Construction of Civil Works (Earthwork, Bridges, Station Buildings, Retaining Walls and other miscellaneous Works) from km 29.68 to 49.70 and from km 55.60 to 61.50 and its connectivity to Indian Railways network from New Patli to Patli Station & New Patli to Sultanpur Station incldg. modifications / civil works at Sultanpur Station in connection with laying of New BG Double Railway Line of HORC Project, in Haryana.

RVNL JV bags LoA for contract worth Rs.252 cr in Gujarat

Rachana -RVNL joint venture (JV) has received letter of acceptance (LOA) for a project aggregating to Rs.252.21 crore in Gujarat.

The scope of the project entails upgradation to six lane with paved shoulder of Sarkhej-Changodar Section of NH-SA (New NH-47) for Ahmedabad-Bagodara-Rajkot road on EPC mode in the state of Gujarat, (Package-7).

The cost of the project is 252.21 crore. According to the deal, rachana construction will hold 60% of the share while RVNL share will be 40% in the project. The project is expected to be completed within 30 months.

L&T wins significant order for its Hydrocarbon Business

The Hydrocarbon Business (L&T Energy Hydrocarbon – LTEH) of Larsen & Toubro (L&T) has recently secured an order under its AdVENT (Advanced Value Engineering and Technology) business vertical.

The order is for license plus engineering, procurement and construction (L – EPC) of a Technical Ammonium Nitrate (TAN) plant along with Weak Nitric Acid (WNA) plant at Gadepan, Kota, Rajasthan from Chambal Fertilisers and Chemicals Limited (CFCL), a leading fertilizer company in India.

The TAN and WNA plants, having capacities of approximately 240,000 Metric Tons (MT) p.a. and 2,10,000 MT p.a. respectively, will be built under a technology license from CASALE S.A., a privately owned Swiss Company headquartered in Lugano, Switzerland.

Sharanam Infraproject and Trading Limited has received a purchase order of Rs.32.80 Crores from Wahat AI Butain General Trading LLC, a Dubai-based entity, for the development of a sports ground for a township near Emirates Hill.

This project is a significant milestone for the company, as it represents a major expansion of its operations into the UAE market. The development of the sports ground is expected to provide substantial revenue and growth opportunities for the company, and the company is excited to work with wahat al butain general trading LLC on this project.

Isgec wins Rs.197.25 Crore Order for Renovation and Modernisation of ESP’s of Reputed State Power Utility.

Isgec has received a order for Rs.197.25 crore from Maharashtra State Power Generation Co. Ltd. (MAHAGENCO) for renovation and modernisation of the Electrostatic Precipitators (ESP’s) for their 2×500 MW TPP at Chandrapur Thermal Power Station, Distt. Chandrapur, Maharashtra. The ESP’s shall be retrofitted and modernised for Particulate emission reduction in order to meet the latest Emission Norms guidelines for Thermal Power Plants. The scope of work includes complete Design, Engineering, Supply, Assembly, Erection, Commissioning and Performance Guarantee Testing for ESP Retrofitting/Upgradation of 2×500 MW Units of Chandrapur U-5&6 Thermal Power Station on EPC Basis.

Sterling and Wilson bags three rural electrification orders worth Rs.1,080 crore

EPC firm Sterling & Wilson has bagged three rural electrification orders worth Rs.1,080 crore, towards the development of distribution infrastructure at electric supply circle. Of the three orders, one order is from Chhattisgarh State Power Distribution Company (CSPDCL) in Rajnandgaon district of Chhattisgarh, two others are from South Bihar Power Distribution Company (SBPDCL) in Nalanda (also covering districts in Nawada) and Gaya districts. The turnkey projects have been awarded under the revamped reforms-based and results-linked, distribution sector scheme (RDSS), and are expected to impact lives of lakhs of people in the specified regions.  The contract terms include a 30-month timeline.

Rail Vikas Nigam Ltd, Siemens India Ltd consortium emerges L1 for Mumbai Metro order

Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL) has emerged as the Lowest Bidder (L1) for “Design, Manufacture, Supply, Installation, Testing and Commissioning of 2 nos. 110kV receiving substation including 110 kV, 33kV & 25kV cabling work, complete 25kV overhead catenary system along with switching station, 33Kv auxiliary power distribution system including 33/0.415 kV auxiliary sub-station (ASS) and complete SCADA system for main line & depot of Mumbai Metro line 2B of MMRDA.  RVNL had participated in consortium with M/s SIEMENS India Limited. M/s SIEMENS is the lead partner with 60% share & RVNL as consortium partner with 40% share. The Cost of project is Rs.378 crores.

Larsen & Toubro bags EPC contract for Chambal Fertilisers and Chemicals’ TAN Project

Larsen & Toubro Limited has been awarded an EPC contract worth Rs.960.71 crore by Chambal Fertilizers and Chemicals Limited. The contract is for the Technical Ammonium Nitrate (TAN) Project, which involves the setting up of a plant for manufacturing Technical Ammonium Nitrate. The company’s plant will be situated at its current site in Gadepan, District Kota, Rajasthan, and it is estimated to possess a yearly capacity of around 2,40,000 Metric Tons (MT). It will also include a plant to manufacture approximately 2,10,000 MT per annum of weak Nitric Acid. The project is expected to be finished by October 5, 2025, which is 30 months after April 5, 2023. The agreement entails the complete scope of the project, which comprises design, engineering, procurement, equipment and material supply, construction, project management, pre-commissioning, commissioning, and the transfer or grant of necessary licenses for the successful completion of the project and its corresponding facilities. The payment will be based on milestones achieved, with an initial advance payment of 10% upon submission of a bank guarantee provided by the contractor.

J. Kumar Infraprojects Ltd receives LoA from Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Ltd

J. Kumar Infraprojects Ltd has received Letter of Acceptance from M/s. Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited for the “Construction & Remoting of existing Baiyappanahalli Depot for Bangalore Metro Rail Project – Phase – 2A” for a total contract cost of Rs. 249 crore in the name of J. Kumar – AICPL (Joint Venture) where the share of M/s. J. Kumar Infraprojects Limited is 55% which comes to approximately Rs.137,05,64,353/-) exclusive of GST.

NHAI awards Rs.1272 cr project to TTIPL-RVNL consortium.

The National Highway Authority of India has awarded a project worth Rs.1,272 crore to the TTIPL-RVNL consortium, which emerged as the lowest bidder (L1). The consortium comprises TTIPL with a 51 percent stake and RVNL with the remaining 49 percent stake. The scope of work for the project involves the six-laning of a 37.3 km greenfield Varanasi-Ranchi-Kolkata highway from Sonepurbigha village to the junction with NH-22 (Chatra bypass) in Jharkhand. The project is part of the Bharatmala Pariyojana and will be executed on a hybrid annuity model for Package-8. This initiative is expected to significantly improve connectivity in the region, thus boosting trade and commerce.

Continental Petroleums Limited Wins Orders for its Turnkey Projects Business.

Continental Petroleums Limited has secured LOI for its Turnkey Projects business. The Project is for Supply, Erection, Installation, Testing & Commissioning of material / equipment for the various activities of Development of Distribution Infrastructure at Dausa Circle of Jaipur DISCOM of Rajasthan state under RDSS (Revamped-based & Results-linked Distribution Sector Scheme) on turnkey for a total contract price amounting to Rs.180 crore.
