These advancements reflect the company’s commitment to supporting India’s infrastructure growth safety and sustainably. In an exclusive interview to CONSTRUCTION OPPORTUNITIES, SANJEEV BAJAJ, CHIEF OFFICER, CONSTRUCTION EQUIPMENT BUSINESS DIVISION, ESCORTS KUBOTA LTD, speaks about the launches at Excon 2025, cutting – edge technologies and a lot more.
What key products, technologies, or launches will you be showcasing at EXCON 2025, and how do these offerings address the evolving needs of construction and infrastructure segments
We will be unveiling our new models of cranes, mini excavators, backhoe loaders, and soil compactors, all of which are built with advanced technology that helps save fuel, reduce pollution, and improve overall performance. Every model has been developed to be tough, smart, and eco-friendly, proving how innovation and responsible engineering can make work easier, cleaner, and more efficient.
What growth do you see in India’s construction equipment market and what strategies will define competitiveness in the current landscape?
In recent times, there has been sluggish growth in CE sales due to the interplay of certain macros like cost effect of emission change, early and prolonged monsoons and slow project progress. But currently, the construction equipment industry is on an accelerated growth path, powered by massive infrastructure development, global partnerships, and evolving regulations. In the medium to the long run, the market is projected to grow from USD 8.55 billion in 2025 to USD 12.76 billion by 2030, driven by investments in roads, railways, airports, and urban housing. While India still trails developed nations in terms of equipment variety and technological advancement, the gap is narrowing. The industry has made remarkable progress in recent years, developing smarter machines, expanding product lines, and increasing mechanization across jobsites.
There’s a vast scope to introduce more specialized, efficient, and safer equipment tailored to India’s unique needs. Hence, competitiveness will be led by OEMs like us that are developing intelligent machines, expanding our portfolio, and delivering service reliability to meet India’s evolving infrastructure ambitions.
How is Escorts Kubota diversifying its product portfolio specially in the context of India’s expanding infrastructure needs?
As India’s infrastructure surges ahead, Escorts Kubota is ramping up its manufacturing capacity and deepening localization. A new manufacturing facility in Uttar Pradesh is underway, aligning with the Make in India initiative to boost local production, employment, and economic momentum. To address India’s diverse project needs, the company is enhancing its product range—from compact machines for urban sites to rugged equipment for large-scale infrastructure, with a focus on fuel efficiency, durability, and ease of use.
Technology is at the heart of this transformation. Escorts Kubota is investing in advanced systems that connect product design, manufacturing, inventory, and IoT-enabled jobsite data—creating a seamless digital thread from factory to field. This is backed by a robust service ecosystem, including parts warehouses, trained engineers, and hands-on operator training.
