As per a senior government official, the Road Transport and Highways Ministry constructed 12,349 km of national highways in 2023-24, the second highest in its history. Previously, the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) had constructed a record 13,327 kms of national highways in 2020-21.

The past five years have been incredible years for construction equipment majors, serving as the ‘launch pad’ of sorts for them to bring out their best in terms of equipment, performance, after-sales services and expanding horizons. While we also witnessed the worst when the entire world came to the standstill due to the Covid-19 aftermath, the period only made them even more resilient & resolute to brace for the BEST times ahead.

In tune with the changing times, these players have also started taking cognizance of sustainability and are driving sustainable measures by not only introducing products that are sustainable in nature but are also implementing green manufacturing practices. As a testimony of the fact, in a groundbreaking move, Sany India recently launched the SKT105E Electric Dump Truck. This remarkable feat marks a significant milestone in the Indian mining industry, as the SKT105E becomes the first locally manufactured electric off-highway dump truck, paving the way for a more environmentally conscious and cost-effective future.

Showcasing a classic example of ‘Make in India, Make for the World’ campaign, CASE Construction Equipment has produced its 20,000th Vibratory Compactor, from its Pithampur, Madhya Pradesh facility. The company is now aiming to ramp up their production capacity to 10,000 units for all products annually by next year, making it the second-largest manufacturing facility by CNH globally and CASE’s largest export hub.

While these are just a few success stories, each construction equipment is scripting success story in their right and is contributing to the country’s steadfast growth trajectory. While we might see a slight distraction in the growth in the coming quarter owing to general elections, the other quarters are only going to mean, ‘Business, Business & more Business’ as our hon’ble PM was recently quoted as saying at a conference, ‘I am busy in elections for the next 100 days. You have enough time in your hands to think.

After taking oath, a lot of work will come your way’. Consider this as the ‘prep time’ to see the ‘Best Times’ we are all eagerly awaiting to witness and be a part of the development juggernaut that is set to unfold in the future.
