Value Rs.3658 cr

BEML Ltd, a Mini Ratna Public Sector Enterprise under the Ministry of Defence, has secured two significant contracts worth Rs.3,658 crore from Chennai Metro Rail Ltd (CMRL). The agreement involves the design, manufacture, supply, testing, and commissioning of advanced Standard Gauge Metro Rolling Stock and Depot Machinery & Plant. The deal also includes a 15-year comprehensive maintenance contract.

Under the project, BEML will deliver 210 metro cars, configured into 70 three-car trainsets (DMC + TC + DMC), designed for Unattended Train Operation (UTO) mode (GoA4), the highest level of metro automation. These state-of-the-art trains will operate across three major corridors of Chennai Metro:

  • Corridor 3:Madhavaram to Sipcot (45.8 km)
  • Corridor 4:Lighthouse to Poonamallee (26.1 km)
  • Corridor 5:Madhavaram to Sholinganallur (47 km)

The total network spans 118.9 km, comprising 76.3 km of elevated tracks and 42.6 km of underground lines.

Timeline for Delivery and Maintenance

The first trainset is expected to be delivered by January 2027 and will undergo rigorous testing at the Madhavaram Depot for 14 months, including integration and service trials. The final trainset is scheduled for delivery by April 2029. Maintenance services will commence once the 70th trainset begins revenue operations and will continue for 15 years.

KEC International Ltd. has bagged turnkey orders worth Rs.1,704 crore from Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. (PGCIL) for the development of 765 kV transmission lines and gas-insulated substations (GIS) in the Transmission & Distribution (T&D) sector.

Ashoka Buildcon has bagged a Rs.192.69 crore project from Madhya Pradesh Poorv Kshetra Vidyut Vitaran Company Limited in Jabalpur. The contract, which focuses on engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC), involves the procurement, supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of new 11 KV lines, LT lines, distribution transformer substations, and associated infrastructure, including distribution poles and transformers. The project aims to separate mixed feeders and transformers under the KfW-funded Feeder Separation Project (FSP) Lot-I in Chhindwara, with completion targeted within 24 months.

G.G. Tronics India, a subsidiary of CG Power and Industrial Solutions, has bagged a major Rs.500-600 crore order from Chittaranjan Locomotive Works for the supply of KAVACH railway safety equipment. The order involves the supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of onboard KAVACH systems for Indian Railways, which includes complete wiring, harnessing, cabling, and integration with the Loco KAVACH system. The project is set to be executed within one year.

Premier Energies Limited’s subsidiaries — Premier Energies Global Environment Private Limited, Premier Energies International Private Limited, and Premier Energies Photovoltaic Private Limited — have bagged multiple orders totaling Rs.1,087 Crores. These orders, placed by two major Independent Power Producers (IPPs) and another customer, include Rs.964 Crores for the supply of solar modules and Rs.123 Crores for solar cells. The supply of the solar modules is scheduled to begin in January 2025, marking a significant milestone for the company in the renewable energy sector.

BEML Limited, a prominent public sector enterprise under the Ministry of Defence, has bagged a significant order valued at Rs.246.78 crore from Central Coalfields Limited (CCL). The contract includes the supply of 48 advanced BH60M Rear Dump Trucks, along with spare parts, consumables for 1+4 years, and comprehensive after-sales service support.

The BH60M Rear Dump Truck is a high-performance vehicle, powered by a 480 kW Cummins engine and paired with an advanced Allison transmission. With a payload capacity of 54,500 kg, the truck is designed to meet the demanding needs of mining operations. It features an ergonomically designed cabin for enhanced operator comfort, along with Orbitrol full-time power steering and a shorter turning radius for superior maneuverability.

Manufactured primarily at BEML’s Mysuru complex, the BH60M is equipped with cutting-edge safety and efficiency features, including a 360-degree rear camera, an Automatic Fire Suppression System, and an Auto Lube System for seamless maintenance. The air-conditioned cabin, Driver Fatigue Monitor System, and Productivity & Health Monitoring System ensure optimal operational performance, making it an ideal solution for overburden transportation in mining operations.

The truck complies with ISO standards and the latest safety requirements as per DGMS circulars. BEML is set to begin deliveries promptly after the final inspection, ensuring the highest standards of quality and adherence to timelines.


Value Rs.76.5 cr

Agarwal Industrial Corporation Limited (AICL) has bagged tenders for the supply of bulk bitumen from two prominent public sector undertakings. The company has secured orders from Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) for the supply of 12,500 MT of VG 30 Grade bitumen, valued at approximately Rs.55 crore, and from Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) for the supply of 5,500 MT of VG 30 and VG 40 Grade bitumen, valued at approximately Rs.21.5 crore.

The total supply volume across both orders amounts to 18,000 MT, with a combined value of Rs.76.5 crore based on current market prices.

RailTel Corporation of India Ltd. has been awarded a work order from Kakinada Smart City Corporation Limited (KSCCL) for the supply, installation, testing, and commissioning (SITC), along with operations and maintenance of the existing Integrated Command and Communication Center (ICCC) in Kakinada. The order is valued at Rs.15.21 crore (excluding taxes).

This project aims to enhance the city’s smart infrastructure by ensuring efficient management and coordination of various urban services through a centralized command center. RailTel will be responsible for maintaining and operating the existing system, ensuring it runs smoothly while integrating new technologies to improve the city’s smart city operations.

Bharat Earth Movers Ltd (BEML), a public sector undertaking specializing in heavy equipment manufacturing, has bagged an order worth Rs.246.78 crore from Central Coalfields Limited (CCL). The contract involves the supply of 48 BH60M rear dump trucks, along with spares and consumables.

KEC International has won new orders totaling Rs.1,114 crore across its diverse business segments, including Transmission & Distribution (T&D), civil, and cable businesses.

The company has received orders for T&D projects in the Middle East and Americas, including a 400 kV transmission line project in Oman and an order for the supply of towers, hardware, and poles in the Americas. In the civil sector, KEC secured industrial segment orders in India, along with a Metro Overhead Electrification (OHE) project in the country’s technologically advanced segment.

Additionally, the company’s cable business has secured several orders for the supply of various types of cables both in India and internationally.

Talbros Automotive Components Ltd (TACL) has bagged multi-year orders worth approximately Rs.475 crore from leading original equipment manufacturers (OEMs). The orders, which cover both domestic and export markets, are set to be executed over the next five years.

The order portfolio includes Rs.345 crore in sealing business, with Rs.245 crore allocated for heat shield products and Rs.100 crore for gaskets. The company has particularly emphasized its export strategy, securing Rs.131 crore in orders, primarily for the European market.

Additional orders include Rs.35 crore for chassis components via its joint venture, Marelli Talbros Chassis Systems, Rs.23 crore in forging business (including Rs.14 crore in exports), and Rs.70 crore for hoses and automotive components in the domestic market from a major passenger vehicle OEM.

Notably, Rs.75 crore of the orders are for the electric vehicle (EV) segment, positioning Talbros strategically within emerging automotive technologies.

Markolines Pavement Technologies Limited has been awarded a work order worth Rs.24.52 (inclusive of GST) by Kokhraj Handia Expressway Pvt. Ltd. The order involves rigid pavement rectification work, including tolling, operation, maintenance, and transfer of the 4-lane Allahabad Bypass section (from Km 628.753 to Km 713.215) of NH-2 (now NH-3) in Uttar Pradesh, under the TOT Bundle 11 project. This contract highlights Markolines’ expertise in road maintenance and infrastructure development.

Ashoka Buildcon Limited has received the Letter of Award (LOA) for the development of a 4-lane economic corridor from Bowaichandi to Guskara-Katwa Road Section (Km 89.814 to Km 133.000) on NH 116A in West Bengal. The project, awarded by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), is to be developed under the Hybrid Annuity Mode. The accepted bid project cost for the project is Rs.1,391 Crore, excluding GST.
