NEW 800 TONNE LIEBHERR CRANE FOR LOCAR
Brazillian crane rental specialist Locar has added a new 800
tonne capacity Liebherr LTM 1750-9.1 wheeled mobile telescopic
crane to its rental fleet. The addition was motivated by growth in
the wind energy industry and increased activity in mining and
oil & gas, Liebherr said. Commenting on the decision Amilcar
Spinetti Filho, Locar innovation and fleet management director,
said, “Despite the current political situation, we strongly believe
in the country’s growth and so we are investing in the renewal
and increase of the fleet. “Our fleet of high capacity all terrain
models is almost completely standardised with Liebherr cranes.
The administration of a single partner in this way greatly facilitates
our management, in terms of operation, knowledge of equipment
and after sales service,” Spinetti continued. Short set up time and
good manoeuvrability were key requirements in the design of the
nine axle crane, Liebherr said. It can travel with the boom on
board and also has the Y-type capacity enhancement system
           for the main boom
