COVER STORY
If we have to describe the year 2021 in one word, it would
definitely be the year of RESURGENCE. Why is that so? Well, the
year marked many firsts for our country. We rolled out the world’s
largest vaccination drive, which involved many challenges to
encounter to achieve the target. But by the year end, we managed
to administer a record 150 crore doses to the citizens. While the
second wave of the pandemic wreaked havoc for the economy
and citizens once again, we managed to get back on track in no
time. The government, on its part, launched various pathbreaking
initiatives for the construction sector to get back to normalcy and
drive the economic wheels of the country. Some of the remarkable
policy interventions that are worth mentioning include the launch
of National Monetization Plan, Mission Gati Shakti, National
Infrastructure Pipeline, etc. The same year also witnessed the
country achieving the record road building pace of 37 km of
highways a day. The government’s concerted efforts on bringing
back the engines of growth with infrastructure as the ‘Nerve Center of
Growth’ reflect best times to come for India Inc. We are moving into
a ‘Resurgent India’ phase where everyone from the smallest players
to startups and large conglomerates are taking the inspiring India
growth story ahead. The cover story captures the essence of what
went by and what lies ahead for the country to become a $5 trillion
economy in the coming times and make a mark for itself writes,
