Company Focus - Putzmeister

Concrete advantage

Notwithstanding the global economic slowdown, Putzmeister’s concrete pump juggernaut is on an aggressive roll across the world – and in India.

An acknowledged world leader and global supplier of concrete machines, Putzmeister has its operations in all major countries of the world. As a pioneer of research and development in concrete pumping technology, the company offers the latest and the most comprehensive range of concreting solutions.

Putzmeister – the name evolved from the ‘Master of Plastering’ – is on an ascending innovative growth path since 1958. Upholding the prime motto of Engineered for Success the company's machines and plants provide highest performance, quality and reliability. The company's global team of highly skilled and motivated people work continuously to improve the company's products and services. Setting the trend in its industry, Putzmeister continues to significantly invest in research and development. The German major dedicates itself in meeting the dynamic demand trends.

INDIA OPERATIONS

With the support of its parent company in Aichtal, Germany; Putzmeister India has developed advanced technologies and high quality services in India with its base in Verna industrial estate, Goa. With a country wide sales and service network and regional and local offices all over India, Putzmeister delivers perfect concreting solutions to the industry. It also offers competent advice and customised concepts to its clients and imparts training on all aspects of concreting technology. Putzmeister pumps have been deployed at various prestigious projects and are the first choice of real estate and infrastructure companies all across India. Putzmeister machines are working for construction of various prestigious projects like Metro rail projects, expansion and modernization of International airports at Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata and Bangalore, construction of various power plants, Hydro-electric projects, LNG tanks, refineries, ports, roads, bridges and other various high rise building projects.

SMARTTECH SOLUTIONS

Putzmeister concrete pumps are based on technical pioneer achievements. They keep attaining new records in high-rise and long distance conveying – and have been doing so for over the years. These pumps have been configured with the right features according to the industry demands; hence these concreting stars are the highly preferred choices of the industry experts and personnel.

Putzmeister pursues a research and development strategy that is closely linked to its client’s expectations. This need alignment and the perpetual success of the stationary concrete pumps has given the industry, a whole range of eSmart machines which includes the BSA 1404 D, BSA 1405 D and BSA 1407 D . The BSA eSmart range is equipped with the Human Machine Interface (HMI) control panel that has the Ergonic Graphic Display (EGD) which allows determining the real time operating status of the machine and diagnosing faults. The EGD displays performance parameters like pumping hours, concrete output, hydraulic oil temperature, stroke counter and other significant features that make it convenient for the operator to monitor the pumping. The eSmart range features the new Open Pumping System (OPS) which helps reduce the operational costs drastically. This revolutionary system allows to reduce the hydraulic oil usage by 70 litres, which is almost 70 per cent lesser compared to the oil needed for an equivalent machine from other brands. This makes the eSmart machines very economical to run and environment friendly. Safety during operation is the major concern of the industry. To tackle this challenge, Putzmeister machines have been designed, keeping in mind, the human and the machine safety.

The advanced safety arrangements make the machine safer to operate. The emergency switch on the control panel is conveniently accessible and it stops the entire operation of the machine when pressed in case of an emergency. The RSA – which is a grill safety switch keeps the pumps and agitator from functioning if the hopper grill is open, thereby avoiding any accidents. This ensures the safety of the machine user. The eSmart range also extends it safety features with the plunger cylinder guard and engine fan belt guard. The plunger cylinder guard prevents human interference with the machine while in-pumping, thus providing safety to the operator. The engine fan belt guard is provided at the vicinity of the engine pulleys with the belt in order to prevent accidents in case of damage caused to the engine fan belt.

The hose protection coil which are plastic based coils are wrapped across the hydraulic hoses to prevent rubbing of the hoses add to the safety of the machine. With the number of apt features, Putzmeister BSA eSmart range allows savings and safety, making it a perfect choice for concrete pumping.

THE SOLUTIONS

Putzmeister is a leading solution provider for pumping, mixing and placing concrete in the industry. No matter what unpleasant or difficult work the Putzmeister elephant is called upon to perform, it still remains comfortable to operate and to service

Around the world, for a number of years, Putzmeister truck mounted boom pumps have been proving their worth as indestructible sustaining harsh conditions on construction sites. Their great reserves of power suit them to the most extreme conditions, reduce mechanical wear and ensure a high level of operational availability. Putzmeister has earned international acclamation for its work in high rise pumping and long distance pumping.  Staying committed to bring high value products and excellent services to its customers, Putzmeister has introduced the new generation boom pump BSF 36.04 NG. The machine has been built using Aluminium and high-grade light weight steel to reduce the weight by more than two tonnes. This boom pump comes with ‘Big Mouth’ delivery cylinders of 230 mm diameter, which are 32 per cent more efficient in filling the pipeline than its smaller counterparts. The 'Big Mouth' solution reduces running costs, diesel consumption, maintenance cost on wear and tear parts etc., for every cubic meter pumped.

Putzmeister has earned international acclamation for its work in high rise pumping and long distance pumping.  Staying committed to bring high value products and excellent services to its customers, Putzmeister has introduced the new generation boom pump BSF 36.04 NG. The machine has been built using Aluminium and high-grade light weight steel to reduce the weight by more than two tons. This boom pump comes with ‘Big Mouth’ delivery cylinders of 230 mm diameter, which are 32 per cent more efficient in filling the pipeline than its smaller counterparts. The “Big Mouth” solution reduces running costs, diesel consumption, maintenance cost on wear and tear parts etc., for every cubic meter pumped. Having major focus on green concreting, the hydraulic tank capacity has been reduced to 275 litres, which is 30 per cent lesser as compared to other machines in the market. This makes the machine much more economical and eco-friendly to run.

With its Z-fold boom, the BSF 36.04 NG combines an optimum reach on a 3-axle chassis with added features and versatility- all at a gross weight of under 25 tons. The great flexibility of the Z-fold system and the narrow cross-section of the arm assembly significantly improve the machine’s manoeuvrability which enables jobs to be completed as fast and as simply as possible. Overcoming obstacles on construction sites is no big deal, as the BSF 36.04 NG is even able to reach places, which would usually require larger machines or boom extensions.

BSF 42-5: Optimum flexibility

Putzmeister machines are engineered for success. Executing highest performance, quality and reliability, BSF 42-5 achieves success through its optimum flexibility, i.e. large reach on a 4-axle truck and minimum footprint.

The 5-arm boom in the RZ-fold system has an impressive action radius i.e. 41.6 m vertical reach for all requirements in building construction and 30.7 m reach depth, which is considerably more than with comparable 4-arm version. This mobile 5-arm boom provides the machine operator with more manoeuvrability under difficult conditions such as low buildings, tight inner city areas or in the event of obstacles between the truck and the site of concrete placement.

Focussing on the safety, the truck is protected from damage by transmission of forces to the support legs. The truck chassis is not used for force transmission and is therefore not loaded with torsion ensuring not only quieter pumping operation but also a long service life of the whole truck.
