Alstom to supply cars for Mumbai's metro line 3

The Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation Limited (MMRCL) has awarded French multinational Alstom contract worth around EUR 315 million to supply 248 wagons for Line 3, the company said Tuesday. The Mumbai Metro Line 3 is a 33.5-km long underground stretch connecting the busiest and congested regions in Mumbai - one of the fastest growing cities in India. It will connect Cuffe Parade business district in the extreme south of the city to SEEPZ in the north-central with 26 underground and one street-level station. Line 3 will not only be the first underground metro line in Mumbai but will be one of the biggest underground continuous stretches in India as well. This contract awarded by the MMRCL envisages design, delivery and commissioning of 31 lightweight, fully-furnished modern passenger train sets of eight cars each. Alstom will be responsible for training of operating and maintenance staff for Mumbai Metro Line-3 system as well.

KEC International Bags news orders

KEC International Ltd, a global infrastructure EPC major and an RPG Group Company, declared that it has secured new orders of Rs 1,010 crore across its businesses. Of the total orders, The Transmission & Distribution (T&D) business has secured turnkey orders of Rs 491 crore across India, Middle East and The Americas. This include GIS substation and other orders across India from PGCIL, Variation orders in the Middle East, Orders from the Americas received by SAE Towers. The Cables Business has secured orders of Rs 250 crore for various types of Cables and the Solar Business of the company won orders of Rs 195 crore from various private players across India. The company’s Civil Business also has secured orders of Rs 74 crore for civil and structural works from a leading Automobile company and a leading Cement company.

L&T wins contracts for business segments

L&T Construction, the construction arm of Mumbai-based Larsen & Toubro (L&T) declared that it has won new orders worth Rs 2,654 crore across its various business segments.

The Transportation Infrastructure business of the company has bagged a new order worth Rs 2,095 crore from Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation Ltd (MSRDC), for the construction of Package 10 of the Six-lane Nagpur Mumbai Super Communication Expressway in the state of Maharashtra.

Meanwhile, the company’s Heavy Civil Infrastructure business also bagged an order worth Rs 559 crore from Maharashtra MSRDC for construction of the Thane Creek Bridge-III. The project involves construction of a 1.837 Km dual bridge across the Thane Creek Channel connecting Mumbai and Navi Mumbai.

Sadbhav Engineering bags order from Maharashtra State Road Development Corp

Sadbhav Engineering today said it has received letter of acceptance (LOA) from the Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation for road project worth `1,620 crore. The order is for construction of access controlled Nagpur-Mumbai Super Communication Expressway (Maharastra Samruddhi Mahamarg) in Maharashtra in district Washim.  "The company has received Letter of Acceptance (LOA) from Maharashtra State Road Development Corpn. Ltd. (A Government of Maharashtra Undertaking) for the road project/work for a negotiated contract value of Rs 1,620 crore," Sadbhav Engineering said in a BSE filing. In a separate filing, the company said it has also been declared the successful bidder (Ll) for other road and irrigation  projects worth Rs 1,299.98 crore.

Jain Irrigation Secures Export Order in Africa

India’s leading micro-irrigation company Jain Irrigation Systems Ltd (JISL) last month announced award of a $18.27 million (approx. Rs 127 crore) contract by Rwanda Agriculture Board (RAB), Kigali, Rwanda for irrigation and watershed development (1220 /1752 Ha) in Mahama Sector under Export Targeted Modern Irrigated Agriculture Projects in Rwanda. The project will be executed near Rusumo (Rwanda — Tanzania border), according to the company.The project is financed by EXIM Bank of India under Govt. of India Line Of Credit (LOC) program. Rwanda as a country is investing in modern agriculture project and is at the forefront of using latest technology to improve productivity. They have taken impressive strides in value added agriculture. This is an Engineering, Procurement & Construction (EPC) contract. JISL has full responsibility of development infrastructure for various irrigation systems viz, sprinkler irrigation, center pivot & pipe hydrant system,” it added. According to the company, it intends to complete the project in next 18 months.

RInfra consortium submits bank guarantees for sea link project in Mumbai

Reliance Infrastructure recently declared that its consortium has submitted bank guarantees worth Rs 735 crore to Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC) for Versova-Bandra Sea Link project. RInfra consortium has submitted Performance Security Bank Guarantee (PS-BG) and Mobilisation Advance Bank Guarantee (MA-BG) to MSRDC for Versova-Bandra Sea Link Project (VBSL), it said in a statement. RInfra-Astaldi SpA (Italy) Consortium had signed an agreement with MSRDC on September 4, 2018 for construction of VBSL. The consortium has submitted `350 crore of PS-BG and `385 crore of MA-BG to MSRDC, it said. The guarantees have been submitted ahead of time for fast-track completion of the project, it said. The consortium had bagged the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract for the `7,000 crore project on a competitive bid basis.

L&T Construction Bags EPC contract

The Water & Effluent Treatment Business of Mumbai-based L&T Construction has won a new EPC order worth Rs 1,394 crore from the Water Resources Department, Government of Madhya Pradesh, for the execution of the Kundalia Irrigation Project – Right Bank.“The project envisages to provide water for Micro-Irrigation to more than 64,000 Ha. of cultivable land in the Command Area of Rajgarh district of Madhya Pradesh by lifting water from Right Bank of the Kundalia reservoir on the Kalisindh River. The scope includes survey, investigation, design, procurement, construction and installing of pumping system, rising and gravity main line / branch lines / distribution network with control and automation system,” the company said in a statement.

Kridhan Infra Bags New Order from Central PWD

Kridhan Infra Ltd (KIL), a Mumbai-headquartered infrastructure solutions companyannounced that its associate company Vijay Nirman Company Pvt Ltd (VNC) has won a new order worth Rs 174 crore from Central Public Works Department (CPWD), Government of India, for construction works in New Delhi.According to the company, the time frame for completion of the project will be 21 months.

Indian Hume Pipe Company bags work order from Tamil Nadu

Indian Hume Pipe Company has received a Work Order of Rs 256.19 crores from Tamil Nadu Water Supply & Drainage Board, Coimbatore for providing Combined Water Supply Scheme to Alampalayam Town Panchayat, Padaveedu Town Panchayat including 669 Rural Habitations in Pallipalayam and Tiruchengode Unions in Namakkal District and Sankari Town Panchayat in Salem District with River Cauvery as Source. The project is to be completed within 24 months including trial run and maintenance period of 5 years.

Dilip Buildcon bags metro rail project in MP

Highway developer Dilip Buildcon (DBL) today said it has bagged a Metro rail project worth Rs 247.06 crore in Madhya Pradesh. The company has been declared L-1 bidder for Bhopal Metro rail project, Phase -I, valued at Rs 247.06 crore by the Urban Administration and Development Department Madhya Pradesh, Metro Rail Co Ltd, Bhopal, Dilip Buildcon said in a BSE filing.The project is for construction of design and construction of elevated viaduct between AIIMS and Subhash Nagar (excluding stations) including entry and exit to depot for Bhopal Metro Rail project, phase-l.

RInfra bags EPC contract in Maharashtra

Reliance Infrastructure has bagged an EPC contract valued at Rs 1,907 crore for Package-7 of the Rs 46,000-crore Nagpur-Mumbai Super Communication Expressway (NMSCE), the company said in a statement. The work on the project, which includes the design, engineering, procurement and construction of a six-lane expressway and associated structures and project facilities, is to be completed in 30 months, the company added.

Reliance Infrastructure Wins Arbitration Award Against NHAI

Reliance Infrastructure has won Rs 200 crore arbitration award against National Highway Authority of India (NHAI). A three-member Arbitration Tribunal in its unanimous award on August 31, 2018 has asked NHAI to pay Rs 150 crore by November 29, 2018 to Reliance Infrastructure. NHAI will have to pay interest @12% p.a. on the amount if they do not pay Rs 150 crore by the deadline. The Tribunal has also awarded Reliance Infrastructure compensation @13.5% of actual revenue for the loss of revenue suffered due to change in location of toll plaza. This is payable from March 2017 till the end of concession on January 14, 2038. Net present value of this future cash-flow is estimated at over Rs 50 crore.
