August is a month of national pride. It’s our Independence Day month. Since our independence back in 1947, we have come a long way. The Government’s initiatives and boost to manufacturing has transformed India into a country in making. While projects like ‘Housing for All by 2020’ have woken the real estate sector, the ambitious projects such as Bharatmala, Sagarmala and the construction of highways and roads throughout India have raised the bar for the infra projects in the country.

The massive infrastructure activity that is currently underway in the country has meant that it has been driving the process towards increased mechanization of construction activities, with crushing and screening being no exceptions. Within infrastructure the need for tons of road construction base materials has been one of the major driving forces behind the increased demand for crushing and screening equipment.

The rise in the construction of facilities and related infrastructure has resulted in the demand for industrial flooring in the long run. Sectors such as industries and F&B segments, commercial real estate and warehousing are in the forefront. Rising economic activities and industrialisation in India is expected to bring a growth surge in the flooring chemicals market in India Rapid industrialisation, rising government expenditure on infrastructure and manufacturing facilities will positively influence industrial floor coatings market growth. Shift in consumer preference for improved finishing ability with high mechanical strength and chemical resistance flooring will encourage product penetration.

The rise in industrilisation has also proved to be a boon for the sectors supporting it. Powered by India’s trillion dollar focus on modernizing its infrastructure to global norms, the construction, mining and infrastructure sector are fueling demand for tipper trucks. Overall the Indian CV market is projected to grow at a CAGR of 11 per cent until 2019 and 56 per cent of the market by value is accounted by Tippers in the mining segment. This development is commendable.

Excavators also receive a special mention in this edition.

Keep the thorns coming along with the roses – we have a long road ahead of us and that would help us stay very much grounded.
