CHANGING TIMES

Indian cities have been for long facing issues such as congestion of traffic, waste management, economic inequality that have been bogging them.

The ‘Smart Cities Mission’ (SCM) launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government in 2015 aimed at tackling urban issues. Emerging as a major industrial and manufacturing hub, Pune is gaining importance as a major investment destination. The Pune Smart City Development Corporation Ltd (PSCDCL) has come up with projects such as smart street lighting, smart elements,   E- buses, cycle sharing projects and much more for the smart city plans. Pune is turning out to be the hot bed of development in the country.

With each passing day, the Prime Minister has been raising the bar when it comes to the best infrastructure for the country. Additionally new funding initiative is taking place across the country. These factors are expected to underpin growth across the Indian construction equipment sector in years to come, but there are other reasons for the backhoe loader market in particular to enjoy continued buoyancy. The market size of backhoe loaders was 22,500 units last year. According to Off-Highway Research, the sales of backhoe loaders in India are expected to increase from the 21,192 units sold in 2015 to 28,000 machines by 2020.

With the consistent growth in demand and utilisation, there has been a considerable growth in the production of construction chemicals. The use of right construction chemicals enhances the capabilities, performance, functionality, chemical resistance and longevity of construction materials. It minimises the project completion time and the need for regular repair, thereby reducing the overall average project and repair cost in the longer run. They also add value by augmenting the look and feel of the building.

Today, hoists and especially, cranes have grown to be devices far more sophisticated in nature and have been playing an instrumental role in simplifying the works for the manufacturing, mining, infrastructure, automotive and construction industries.
