L&T bags contracts worth Rs.2,500 cr for various construction businesses

L&T Construction, the construction arm of L&T has secured various orders in India for its businesses.

The Metallurgical & Material Handling (MMH) Business has secured an order to set up Coke Oven, By Product and Coke Dry Quenching plants, given its competence and capability to deliver complex plants in the steel sector. The spurt in the minerals and metals sector has accelerated much-needed private sector investment.

The MMH Business has also secured new orders in the mining sector for its Products Business and add-on orders from its existing customers. These orders affirm MMH’s leadership position and signify its continued efforts to build customer confidence in the Metallurgical & Materials space.

The Buildings & Factories business has won an order from a prestigious client for construction of office space at Hyderabad with an approximate built-up area of 20 Lakhs Sq. ft on fast-track timelines, scheduled to be completed in 14 months.

This project consists of 2 Towers with 5 Basements Et associated utility buildings. The Tower area comprises composite structural steel structure from the basement. The scope of work involves Civil, Finishes & related MEP works. The project reaffirms L&T’s commitment to move into Modular Structural Steel Composite Structures to overcome the challenge of scarcity in skilled manpower and to meet the accelerated delivery timelines from the Customer.

The Water & Effluent Treatment business has bagged an order from Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) to construct a Demineralization Plant, ETP and allied facilities for its Barauni Refinery in Bihar.

The project scope involves design, engineering, supply, erection & commissioning of the demineralisation plant, effluent treatment plant, condensate polisking unit and drinking water plant with single point responsibility on Lump Sum Turn-Key basis.

The order from the refinery and petrochemical sectors underpins the business capability to deliver advanced water treatment technologies within stringent timelines.

L&T GeoStructure Pvt Ltd. (LTGS), a wholly owned subsidiary of L&T, has bagged a strategic order from the Department of Water Resources, Government of Odisha, for the construction of 1 km long, 1000 mm thick plastic concrete cut-off wall for the Kanupur Irrigation Project at Keonjhar District, Odisha. The cut-off wall will arrest the seepage of water from upstream to downstream to improve the stability of the dam. The duration of the project is 11 months.

LTGS is focussed on ground engineering business, with the expertise to design and execute deep foundations like large diameter piling, diaphragm walls and cut-off walls, in the areas of marine, intake structures, water and earth retaining structures and bridges.

Generic Engineering Construction and Projects Limited has been awarded with new work orders worth Rs.180.38 Crs (Including GST) for various institutional projects from various reputed clients, existing as well as new, which includes Residential, Commercial & Industrial Projects, the details of which are as follows:

Construction of Commercial Complex including Civil Structure, Core & Shell, Mumbai and Construction of Data Center at Rabale (Commercial) - Rs.152.27 crores

Construction of Manufacturing Facility for Ballot Units in R & D Sheds, Bangalore (Industrial) - Rs.5.10 crore

Construction of Residential Building, Ghatkopar & Kalyan (Residential) - Rs.23.01 crores.

Sterling and Wilson Solar wins waste-to-energy project worth Rs.1,500cr

Sterling and Wilson Solar Limited has received the first order worth Rs.1,500cr for its waste-to-energy business from a leading developer of energy assets in the UK and Europe. Last month, the Company had announced expansion of its renewable energy offerings to include hybrid energy, energy storage and waste-to-energy solutions. The facility will process 23.2 tonnes of non-recyclable solid municipal waste per hour, diverting over 185,600 tonnes of waste each year. The facility will generate around 19.6 MW of energy, enough to power over 30,000 homes, and will also provide heat that can be used by nearby businesses. Scope of work for this project includes design, engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning and testing of the facility, Boiler (fuel - Refused Derived Fuel), 19 MWe steam turbine generator and condensor, pollution control equipment, water treatment plant, associated balance of plant and subsequent O&M. Construction will start in Q3FY22 and will take over three years to commission.

NCC Ltd receives new orders worth Rs.444 crore

NCC has received two new orders totaling for Rs.444 crore (exclusive of GST). Out of these orders, one order valuing Rs.280 crore pertains to Water & Environment Division and the second order valuing Rs.164 crore pertains to Building Division. These orders are received from State Government agencies and do not include any internal orders.

Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL) has secured Contract from Madhya Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation Limited. The contract is for “Design and Construction of Seven (7) Elevated Metro Rail Stations including Viaduct portion within the stations and Transition spans on either side of the stations, Entry-Exit Structures, Architectural Finishes, E&M Works etc. (ISBT/MR 10 Flyover, Chandragupta Square, Hira Nagar, Bapat Square Meghdoot Garden, Vijay Nagar Square & Radisson Square)” of Indore Metro Rail Project.

Brahmaputra Infrastructure Limited along with the JV Partner have received a LOA from the office of Mission Director (Assam Skill Development Mission) for the execution of the Contract Package No. CW02/2020-21; Detailed design and construction of ASU campus and facilities campus development including landscape, horticulture, water bodies, internal roads, pavements, drainage, electrification, street lighting, sewerage, water supply, etc. and building works for academic blocks, specialized laboratories, workshops, computer laboratory, library, administration and special service facility buildings, canteen, hostels, and recreation facilities (“the Works”) for a total amount Rs.293.88 Crores.

HFCL Ltd receives order of Rs.287.96 crores from RailTel Corporation of India Ltd

HFCL Ltd has bagged an order amounting to Rs.287.96 Crores from RailTel Corporation of India Limited, a Mini Ratna (Category-I) Central Public Sector Undertaking (CPSU) of Ministry of Railways, for setting up of Secured Optical Packet Switched Network for Defense Forces. The Secured Optical Packet Switched Network shall enhance the security of applications and provide latest state of the art technology, which will drive the security requirement of Defense Forces. The hardware and the software provided would be under warranty for a period of 24 months.

PSP Projects Ltd emerges L1 Bidder for Rs.238.70 crores project in UP

PSP Projects Ltd has emerged as the Lowest Bidder (L1 Bidder) for one government residential project with a bid value of Rs.238.70 crores (excluding GST) in Uttar Pradesh.

The company has also emerged as the Lowest Bidder (L1 Bidder) for two projects viz. one in government and another in government residential segment totaling to Rs.104.09 crores (excluding GST) in Gujarat.

Tantia Constructions Limited has received an order amounting to Rs.42.38 crore from East Central Railway against a contract work for construction of Chainpur Road Over Bridge (ROB) in lieu of L/C No. 26/SpI/T at Km. 80/1-2 in between Chandrapura ~ Barakana route in CIC section of Dhanbad Division.

Sharika Enterprises Ltd receives contract valued at Rs.42.10 crore

Sharika Enterprises Limited has received a contract to design, supply, install, commission and maintain Feeder Automation System as part of Distribution Management System (DMS) to improve the reliability of the power distribution in Jammu and Kashmir. The contract has been awarded by General Electric Company’s India Entity GE T & D India Ltd as an associate partner. The Contract valued at Rs.42.10 Cr is one of the largest feeder automation contract this year in the country.

Honeywell wins Bengaluru safe city project

Honeywell Automation India Limited bags order to lead the Bengaluru Safe City project under the Nirbhaya Fund by the Government of India. An initiative of the Ministry of Home Affairs, the project aims to create a safe, secure and empowering environment for women and girlsin public places to enable them to pursue all opportunities without the threat of gender-based violence or harassment. The Bengaluru Safe City project is valued at Rs.496.57 crore. Honeywell will create an integrated Command & Control Center to manage a state-of-the-art video system that features more than 7,000 video cameras deployed at more than 3,000 locations across the city. The video system will provide advanced video analytics, including facial recognition, a “Dial 100” application and drones. Honeywell will also upgrade the city police department’s existing Suraksha app to help improve incident response rate and citizen engagement. Bengaluru is among eight cities selected for the Government’s Safe City project, which involves identification of hot spots for crimes against women and deployment of various components, including infrastructure, technology adoption, and capacity building in community through awareness programs. The Bengaluru Safe City project will be implemented in phases. Honeywell will operate and maintain the security infrastructure for five years.
