Give an overview of the  CC market in India in terms of cost/quality equations, sector challenges, and growth prospects.


The Construction Chemicals market is growing and the awareness is increasing. With more organised players coming into the market, it seems that we are going to see some golden days for everyone.



What has been the impact of Covid-19 on your business, your expectations from the govt and what are your strategies to overcome these sluggish market conditions and expand market share.


There surely has been a severe impact on the business. The prime season for Construction chemicals i.e. from March to June was totally gone. We expect government to give some special benefits to the industries associated with the Construction sector. We have geared up ourself by venturing into multiple segments so that we can at least ensure survival and then later on growth.


We are in the growth phase so increase in market share is surely on cards and for this kind of growth we are also developing our team. We have been recruiting new talent even in these tough days so that we can infuse growth.

With some extraordinary products like Self Cure Ready Plaster, Deco Floor System and Liquid waterproofing membrane, we are a notch ahead. Our Champion product range include the Wall Finishing Products, Waterproofing Systems and Concrete Repairs. WE have been leading in the Tile adhesive segment of Retail market.



What are the USP’s of your products/solutions Vis-à-vis competition.  Advantages of using your CC in terms of savings on construction cost, time, and labour.  


We believe that the most important USP of a product in today’s competitive and dynamic market is the Reliability of the product and we score on that against the competition.


We have in house production and testing facilities for all our products which ensure consistency in quality and affordable pricing.



Which sectors are major demand drivers for CC in India. 


The major demand drivers are the Repairs of concrete structures as in the last 20 years lot of concreting has happened in India with different parameters of quality control. All those structures will be up for repairs in the next few years which will create a major demand in CC.


Also with Mass housing projects coming in and affordable housing being the order of the day, products related to concreting and special products like gypsum bonding agents and liquid waterproofing is also going to see a surge in demand.



What is your outlook on the opportunities from renovation and repair of old existing structures for the construction chemical and waterproofing business? Can this area be considered as a new growth driver to strengthen business volumes for players like you?


Yes truly this is one of the major segments which is picking up in last few years. We need better standards to judge the quality of the product and the quality of word done in this Renovation and repair but just like education, this will be an evergreen segment.



Have you launched any new products or launching new products in the near future.


Yes we are launching high end adhesives and some special cement based flooring solutions which will help the industry to give better things to the end user.



As a manufacturer tell us about the critical challenges faced while introducing high end products in India? To what extent does cost influence a customer’s purchasing decision?


Introducing high end products is always a challenge in India. We have always believed in good quality at low cost so we don’t look at luxury products with positive attitude. We have tried to promote a very basic product like self curing Ready plaster so that the scarcity of water can be nullified and the quality of plastering improves. This would have saved on the labour cost also but the market is so price sensitive that they don’t want to go beyond the regular plaster.



Future outlook on the industry and from a company perspective.


We feel that we have hit the bottom of the crest and so the future Is up and above. We are very positive about the next 12 months and working hard towards the growth of our Organisation.
