Briefly give us an overview of the CONSTRUCTION & PROJECT MANAGEMENT SOFTWARE industry, the latest technology trends and the business drivers?


The industry is definitely geared towards using AI in all aspects. AI has undoubtedly been one of the most sought after technology for a long time now and is also the most influential software. This influence is steadily taking its place in the Construction and Project Management Software industry as well. From proposal creation to project management, AI is being infused into IT solutions to help in all elements of the business. AI proposals can easily catch and correct mistakes made in the documents.


And with the rise of e-Files and Online Collaboration, not only has Project Management gained a massive boost in capabilities, but it has also made it easier for mid-size companies to compete in the market with the giants and sharks in the industry.


Cost Optimisation and Schedule Compliance remains two of the top priorities in the industry, and AI is sure to help in this with its revolutionary capabilities and virtually unlimited potential. I would say that the unleashing of AI functionalities is the biggest trend and the greatest force in the industry right now.




What has been the impact of Covid-19 on your business and what are your strategies to overcome these sluggish market conditions and expand market share.


We started working from home from 21st March 2020 and until now there has been little to no impact on the company’s performance. Customers have gradually and steadily adapted to the online way of business and are available online for more duration independent of their physical location.


Our strategy is to set our customers on the path toward digital transformation and help them by providing them with any infrastructure we can that will enable them to be digitally sufficient. We provide our clients with programmable and smart solutions with the latest technology that will help them stay ahead of the competition. In the age of lockdown, information has become even more powerful than it has always been. In light of this, we have worked hard to equip our clients with the right information at the right time.



Tell us about the solutions and services offered by your firm in the Construction and Project Management space? Briefly talk about your main software solution, its applicability to various areas of construction, infrastructure and real estate, and its advantage to users?

Are you launching any new products and their advantages?


One of our latest developments is the “e-Files” electronic documentation system, which enables our clients to virtually get rid of paperwork entirely. This solution helps our clients to completely digitize their entire documentation system which does not only save their storage space and cut down tremendous costs that go with paperwork, but also offers a far more efficient way of documentation. With e-Files, no one has to spend hours searching for paperwork but can find any document they want within seconds with the search function. Also, collaboration will be seamless and information sharing will be lightning-fast and incredibly efficient. Additionally, our clients will be saving the planet by reducing paper wastage.


We have also launched an advanced functionality in forms which gives our customers the ability to design their own custom forms. Apart from incredible customisation, it also helps them to take all work online instead of maintaining different excels and enhances collaboration. This also removes any limitations on instant data sharing.




Which are the important projects with which your software has been associated with and name your major clients? Tell us of the role played by your software in bringing time cost and time overruns in projects with examples from some projects?


We have worked on various Government projects and also with the major industry giants. But instead of listing down all the times we have brought in considerable quantitative benefits, I would like to share about a CSR project in which we carried a project from RFQ to UAT within two days with our Rapid Development Platform while working with IIT Bombay.


StrategicERP and IIT Bombay joined forces to create this app to proactively save lives during the Covid-19 pandemic. This app helped in exercising social distancing in an efficient manner. When IIT Bombay approached StrategicERP with the request to take this project from the RFQ to UAT stage in two days, StrategicERP accepted this request wholeheartedly. With a lot of dedication and hard work from our team and the proficiency of our Rapid Development Platform, this monumental task was accomplished with great success.


With the COVID-19 pandemic causing lockdowns all over the world, StrategicERP pledged to do its part for the society and help in this fight against this pandemic. StrategicERP has always believed in giving back to the community, and we consider it one of our highest responsibilities to reach out and help the community in its times of need. As such, StrategicERP teamed up with the IIT Bombay to create an app to track potentially infected people (asymptomatics) and warn uninfected people in case they come in close proximity to asymptomatics.


This project was a great success and we are glad to have been able to serve our country in its time of need.




What are the business opportunities being sought by your company in construction/ infrastructure and real estate space and the strategies to market your products?  


I believe that the market’s next great demand is going to be Rapid Process Automation for reduced time to market and time to project completion.


We are focusing on working in harmony with their existing software and elevating the performance by combining the power of our solutions with their existing software. StrategicERP’s systems are designed to be easily integrated with other systems in order to promote synergy and co-operation. This also opens up a lot of opportunities for us to introduce a lot of organisations to Business Process Automation and its benefits.




Could you talk of the challenges associated with convincing clients of the efficacy and profitability of software solutions and services offered by firms such as yours?


Often times customers tend to look at all problems separately and struggle to decide which problem to solve first. It can be like deciding which fire to put out first when there are multiple fatal fires spreading fast. It is sometimes tricky to convey to our clients how they should be prioritising their IT solutions needs and which problem to deal with first.


Digitalisation can seem to be optional based on how much traffic exists in a client’s order pipeline. But digitalisation becomes more difficult with a more trafficked order pipeline. It can be challenging at times to show clients why digitalisation is high-priority. Unless organizations look at digitalisation as a crucial element to survival and as a part of their research and development, it becomes difficult to convince them about the urgency and importance of digitalisation.



Please provide details on your emphasis on research, design and innovation?


According to Gartner, getting technologically literate people will soon become more difficult than people-literate technology. Understanding the importance and urgency of this phenomenon, we are currently focusing all efforts on AI related developments and Rapid Process Automation.



Could you talk of any new products you are planning to launch and their advantages?


We are planning to launch a next-generation performance management system where the system can transcend from “reporting from the people” and move to “reporting the actual progress as per the system to their managers”. This will reduce optimise effort expenditure and streamline communication and time spent in meetings dedicated to team and individual performance.



Future outlook for the industry and from a company perspective


With the Covid-19 forcing the industry into remote work culture, the country’s potential workforce is almost doubled. This is probably because remote working has opened up an opportunity for people who are unable to attend office or travel for whatever reasons.


With such workforce capability and problems at hand to resolve in the infrastructure industry, there is a huge opportunity for the industry to look at innovation and automation as a way to build a platform for making employment and projects accessible to everyone at the touch of a button.
